The CBA will also undergo some changes, with max dollars becoming a lot less. But i do think this heart issue, will kill any chance of a max deal.

The problem is that they don't know what, or if, there is a heart condition. I think he'll get the max.. just in case his ticker issue is a false alarm.

This is exactly what I am hoping for. Give me a PF who can score and a tall SG who can defend and I do the deal in a milisecond.

Hopefully a sign and trade. But if not, it will be a lowball deal. Best season is his contract year, can't rebound, possible heart issues, no defense although it's better, lack of focus at times.

not many false alarms warrant talk of surgery and make a player skip the rest of a season. This will definatley deter others from pursuing him.

If the max becomes lower after the new collective bargaining agreement, then I say he gets a max deal. Otherwise I think a lot of people are overvaluing him and he will get close to a max deal, but maybe not as high as some suggest.

He's going to get the max. CBA is also supposed to shorten the length of max deals to 5 years. The reason the Bulls are not letting him play is because of precautionary reasons. They said everything has came out good, but they don't want to play him so just in case that small small chance happens, they won't be liable. Basically they want to save themselves from a Jay Williams thing and get insurance on his contract. Nothing bad is going to happen. Hakeem had a worse heart problem and he play 15 years in the league and good ones at that.

 

If the Bulls let him play now and something happens, their proposal for insurance probably won't go through because they'll say that the Bulls caused that to happen so they won't get that grant. By him not playing, they make sure they cover their asses by giving him a max deal and if he can't play, insurance pays him and he doesn't count against the cap. And Pax said yesterday during the conference, "People seem to forget he's a restricted FA which means he's coming back to us, so we'll take care of it" and Eddy laughed. He definately hasn't played his last game in Chicago.

 

And SS2K, if you get another PF then you're going to try to play Davis until he's 60 at Center?? Chandler doesn't have the body for a center. Imagine Shaq and Curry and Ilgauskus and even guys like Wilcox, Brand and Diop banging with him. Chandler would completely break his back. He can't play Center. Curry is a legit center and a legit body. I'm happy that he's going to be coming back.

Once all of his test results come back we should know how it is gonna stand when it comes to money. I will be stunned if he gets the max even after the results come back. Because you know that it will be in the back of everyone's mind that it can come back. At this point he keeps getting the irregular heart beat but they have found nothing at all. That in my opinion anyway cannot be a good thing considering all the specialists he has been to. Wouldn't one of them find something small even?

 

Ironically, Curry's loss now might help keep him with the Bulls later. The 6-foot-11 center can become a restricted free agent after the season, and was expected to command a big-money offer from the Hawks or perhaps some other team with room under the salary cap. Now those teams might not be as willing to invest so much -- especially if they can't get adequate insurance. It could make it easier for Chicago to re-sign its homegrown young star.

It can, but it most likely won't. This has been discussed about several guys around the league who's had it happen to them once. Hakeem had it happen to him and I don't think people didn't want him anymore for the same money. It was a one time thing. I've even talked to guys who've had the same thing he had and they said it appeared once or twice, but it wasn't anything major and he plays sports up the wazoo. Also the doctors said it's very common to find in people. He's not going to get less of a contract for this.

 

Also with the new CBA being done, possibly by the end of this week, max contracts will probably be around 5 years which is not that big of a risk.

Why are all the choices questions? I hope we keep Curry. We won't get value in return for him.
