April 21, 200520 yr My Choice would be Ozzie Guillen. I know he has been a mgr for a short time but I love the way he has this team going... I think he will go down as the best sox mgr ever
April 21, 200520 yr Under my time: Ozzie Guillen, no brainer. The only other choices would be Manuel or Bevington

April 21, 200520 yr Bevington? Just kidding. It's nto goign to be a popular choice but as a 22 year old, I'll go with Torborg. That 1990 team was as fun of a team as I've seen and I think he was good with young players. He was kind of the early for of Ozzieball in Chicago
April 21, 200520 yr Author I also liked Jeff Torborg im hoping one day he will become the Sox bench coach....
April 21, 200520 yr anybody says Jerry Manuel, and I think my head will explode. he basically ran a top 5 MLB closer out of town because of a slow start. I'd go with Ozzie, because once he gets this whole lineup thing figured out, he's going to be one hell of a manager.
April 21, 200520 yr Jerry Manuel-manager of the year. just saying. Anyways, I just wanted to say that this is an OUTSTANDING topic. It's threads like these that make me appreciate this site.
April 21, 200520 yr During my time: Ozzie Guillen Sox History: Al Lopez/Tony LaRussa Edited April 21, 200520 yr by SoxFan1
April 21, 200520 yr Author I would never vote for AL Lopez that guy was such an idiot for not voting for Nellie Fox getting into the HOF.. IMO Lopez is the worst mgr ever for screwing your own ballplayer
April 21, 200520 yr QUOTE(Be Good @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 06:11 PM) Under my time: Ozzie Guillen, no brainer. The only other choices would be Manuel or Bevington Terry Bevington is not a choice. He was the worst manager I have seen, period.
April 22, 200520 yr QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) Terry Bevington is not a choice. He was the worst manager I have seen, period. I know he's not a good choice, I was just saying those we're the 3 managers of my time. And Manuel and Bevington aren't even wroth consideration, so it has to be Ozzie.
April 22, 200520 yr Jimmy Dykes. Never saw him manage but loved his book 'You can't steal first base'. He was knowledgeable and funny, but never had the horses to win with. He's the only Sox manager I know of who was once a pipe fitter in the off season.
April 22, 200520 yr Al (The Senor) Lopez and Eddie (The Brat) Stanky. The Brat during 1967 was classic. Edited April 22, 200520 yr by elrockinMT
April 22, 200520 yr How is Ozzie better than Jerry, at least so far? I like Ozzie and I'm not a big Jerry guy but it's 1-0 in Division titles so I don't see a huge disparity anyways
