Who is your fav Sox Mgr of all time

Featured Replies

My Choice would be Ozzie Guillen. I know he has been a mgr for a short time but I love the way he has this team going...

I think he will go down as the best sox mgr ever

Under my time: Ozzie Guillen, no brainer.

The only other choices would be Manuel or Bevington

:o :o

Bevington? Just kidding. It's nto goign to be a popular choice but as a 22 year old, I'll go with Torborg. That 1990 team was as fun of a team as I've seen and I think he was good with young players. He was kind of the early for of Ozzieball in Chicago

I also liked Jeff Torborg im hoping one day he will become the Sox bench coach....

Is Joe Nossek still associated with the Sox somehow?

anybody says Jerry Manuel, and I think my head will explode. he basically ran a top 5 MLB closer out of town because of a slow start.

I'd go with Ozzie, because once he gets this whole lineup thing figured out, he's going to be one hell of a manager.

Jerry Manuel-manager of the year. just saying. Anyways, I just wanted to say that this is an OUTSTANDING topic. It's threads like these that make me appreciate this site.

During my time: Ozzie Guillen

Sox History: Al Lopez/Tony LaRussa

I would never vote for AL Lopez that guy was such an idiot for not voting for Nellie Fox getting into the HOF..

IMO Lopez is the worst mgr ever for screwing your own ballplayer

Terry Bevington is not a choice. He was the worst manager I have seen, period.

I love Terry Bevington

I know he's not a good choice, I was just saying those we're the 3 managers of my time. And Manuel and Bevington aren't even wroth consideration, so it has to be Ozzie.

quickman

i have to say guillen... but history will tell on that one

Jimmy Dykes. Never saw him manage but loved his book 'You can't steal first base'. He was knowledgeable and funny, but never had the horses to win with. He's the only Sox manager I know of who was once a pipe fitter in the off season.

I can't think of any.

Al (The Senor) Lopez and Eddie (The Brat) Stanky. The Brat during 1967 was classic.

Gene Lamont,Jeff Torborg! [sp] :huh

How is Ozzie better than Jerry, at least so far? I like Ozzie and I'm not a big Jerry guy but it's 1-0 in Division titles so I don't see a huge disparity anyways

Didnt the Bevster call for a lefty in the 'pen without anyone warming up??
