I wondered why Marte went out for the second inning but it made sense. You can't have Shingo or Hermanson throw in 125 games this year so if we keep playing 1 run ball, we'll have to use more guys.

I personally didn't want Damaso to go out for another inning. He's my favorite Sox, but he hasn't shown his dominate stuff. He barely survived that inning. He isn't following through on most of his pitches and those are the ones that end up really high or really low.

He also has his zip back on that fastball and is looking fantastic this year. I absolutely love this bullpen, especially when Shingo gets his stuff together and he will.

Biggest strength on the team, imo. It's quite possibly the deepest bullpen in baseball and we have guys at the backend who can really shut the door especially when shingo starts throwing strikes again, this bullpen is outstanding.

I said it could be the deepest pen in the league and there aren't many teams in baseball who have 6 solid arms down in the pen.

Ill take the Twins bullpen over ours.... not saying ours isnt good, because it is.. but the Twins have Crain, Nathan, Rincon, Balfour, Romero..... those guys are all studly.

Not Anaheim, imo. Donelly, Shields and Krod are all very good, but aside from that there pen is nowhere near what it was in previous years, imo.

For those who don't know, Marte faced a BL, 1 out sit in the B9th last night.

A pitch got away from AJ. Marte quickly covered the plate. AJ flipped him the ball. He absorbed a collision from Diaz who was trying to score from 3B.

Diaz came right into Marte's leg. He held on to the ball for the 2nd out.

With RISP, 2 out he then struck out Marrero to end the inning. After Rowand gave him the lead in the T10th he had an easy B10th to earn the win.

 

The White Sox should put together a media spot on that play. Show Marte at home plate & then show the strike out. That's better stuff than a hollywood script. It's tailor made for the Sox Pride campaign.

I would take the a's pen in the present and in the future over ours. They are so ridiculously stacked it is not even funny. I am still gonna make a thread comparing the sox bullpen and theirs at the all star game and bump after the year.
