danman31
Person got owned in his Charlotte debut tonight. Anderson 2-3 with a walk and 2 runs. Ugly pitching all around. Box Score Honel 5.2 IP, 4 R. He is toast IMO. Young and Aceves have HR'd. Box Score Hogs lose 8-2. Dizard struggled in his 1st start, Bakker rocked out of the pen.Box Score Lucas Harrell with 7 shutout innings for Kanny. Ricks drew 4 walks and had no official at-bats. He has more walks than hits this season, lol. 4 RBI for Berry in the 6-2 win. Box Score Edited April 29, 2005 by danman31

Capn12
I don't keep up with the minors anywhere close as much as I used to in teh 90s, but do we have anything worth noting offensively in Charlotte right now besides Anderson? Also: Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA Person 3.2 7 8 8 3 4 4 19.64 OUCH

Dan, what does Fields throw again (pitches)?

Guest JimH
Dizard had 6 k's in 3 innings of work, I wish all our pitching prospects would struggle like that LOL.

danman31
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) Dan, what does Fields throw again (pitches)? I don't remember. Jason did a piece of him for FS, but when we moved the site all the old articles got lost. I'm sure Jason knows as well as our Baron experts. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) Ahem, he said OFFENSIVELY Yeah, well that about sums up the Charlotte offense doesn't it? Burke is hitting well lately, that's something. Spidale has improved since his initial slump returning from injury, but he has done nothing special. The offense doesn't have many prospects. Guest JimH
Wow, this is a new low for Borchard, he's hitting under .150 now. The last thing he needed was an abysmal start. I'm sure the Sox wanted him to get off to a good start, just like they do with all their players but especially him ... might have upped his trade value to fill another need. I can't see any team trading for him at this point, he is striking out at an alarming rate, even worse than before. It's really unfortunate, by all accounts he is quality guy. Guest JimH
Pitcher Josh Fields ... he pitched in that one spring game vs. Milwaukee at Maryvale and did ok. Decent fastball, not overpowering, but he had that big breaker ... that was his out pitch. I saw him pitch in Tucson and about all I remember is I liked his mound presence, he looked confident and comfortable on the hill. Not certain what his third pitch is, I seem to recall he worked his changeup in a few times.
Rex Hudler
For the most part Fields is a fastball/slider guy.

BHAMBARONS
Chattanooga 14 Barons 5 W- Bruksch L- LaMura (0-1) Sv-Salmon Kozlowski 4IP 5H 3R 1BB 6K's Honel 5.2 IP 6H 4R 4BB 3K's * Left in 6th with a Blister Good- Jerry Owens is on a roll 2-4 today on base 4 more times stole his 8th base of the season in the first he is now batting .312 I think he will be a good player. Chris Young 2-5 today hit a towering Homerun in the 1st and a rocket double as well. Jonathan Aceves hit a long homerun and had a double off the centerfield fence. Reynoso was great again going 1 1/3 innings with only one bloop single and 2K's this runs his scorless streak to 10 2/3 to start the season with batters now batting a whopping .072 Bad- The Defense in the 7th inning was lousy with two outs and no one on Andy Gonzalez booted a groundball then the next batter hit a weak grounder to second and Gray booted it and then threw past Rogo. Josh Feilds took a golden sombrero 0-4 4K's Willie Glen was awful serving up 7 runs in the 9th inning and it looked like Batting pratice. Antoin Gray continues to struggle and looks way overmatched here in AA. Notes-Kris Honel left in the 6th with a blister his fastball today was topping at 82 was down 3-0 after 4 batters. Reynoso hit 96 twice on strike outs of Keith Nichols and Santiago Perez. Lookouts first baseman Jesse Gutierrez had a game tonight 4-5, 4 RBI and 2 runs Scored. Corwin Malone makes his first start since 2003 tomorrow night and Tetsu Yofu has been added to the roster.
