Sox vs. Tigers 4-29-05

Featured Replies

Wanna know why they're losing tonight?

Look no further than that 8th inning.

"Get 'em on, get 'em over, get 'em in"?

More like:

Get 'em on, flyout, flyout, flyout.

:puke

That was neither small nor smart.

it's cold and rainy. It's not a big deal yet

Anyone else disappointed in the attendance tonight?  I'm not sure if there was a post about that.  I expected 5k more than what we have tonight.

No one cares. Are you at the game tonight? How can you be disappointed in it then?

The problem is Ozzie refuses to sacrifice people to 2nd base.

The whole idea of small ball is that you win with singles, you dont win with singles if your players are standing on 1b.

Atleast Harris didnt ground into a dp.

So that's what a hard hit ball looks like? I guarantee you that Logan scores this inning.

If I could be at the game, I definitely would. I never understand why people take attendance questions so personally? It was a simple question I asked. I thought that we had established more fan momentum than it appears.

Any Willie defenders out there now?  He sucks, period.

And how was Willies performance any worse than anyone elses tonight?

We've had 9 walks, and 12 LOB

Thankfully that ball hung up there. Logan is damn fast though.

Fathom guarantee the White Sox wont win this game :P

Rack 'em up, 9-3 on a hit & run

Ok I just got back

And I see we stranded ANOTHER lead off man.....

Can we fire Ozzie for 3 games for this incompetency? :banghead :crying

Willie trying to swing for the fences is pretty disgusting man. :puke

I have no complaints about Willie tonight at all. Sure, I wish he wasn't swinging for the fences, but that's a team problem. Like I said earlier, I'm very proud of his performance in the field today.

Yes....but so is every other player on our team besides Iguchi (who hasn't hit a ball within 75 feet of going out).

Last year Ozzie said the Sox didn't play smallball because he didn't have the personnel. What is going on this year???

Ok rally time

We will win!!!!!

More like Willie swinging hard trying to drive the ball to right field.

Atleast he made contact, did not ground into a dp, did not strand a man on 3b with less than 2 outs, etc, etc.

He got a good count, tried to hit the ball hard.

What do you prefer he did?

I guarantee the Sox won't win this game. Ozzie will finally try to play smallball after a leadoff single by Tad, and Everett will bunt into a DP. Is that good enough? :)

I'm not a Willie basher by any means, but you're damn right with that. And even more gross is DJ saying s*** like, "you know, if Willie turns on something he can drive it out, and he just missed that one." SHUT UP!

Ozzie probably got bored of small ball like the fans

At least if we do not win now, we know who to blame for this mess

Trade for a power hitter Kenny. I think SS is where we need him....maybe get Valentin back :banghead :P

Yes, wrong mindset by Willie I agree there. But hell, what would you be thinking at this point in the game?

I'd be thinking "Even if I do get on and move the runner over, is there anyone in this God forsaken lineup who could actually get a hit with RISP?"

Its a complete team effort tonight for the ineptness. Nothing else to be said.

Yes....but so is every other player on our team besides Iguchi (who hasn't hit a ball within 75 feet of going out).

But at least they have a chance of hitting the ball out.

Well, usually when a team says they want to play smallball, they mean they want to have cheap players. The problem has been that our big money guys (PK, Everett, Dye) have sucked lately.

Darrin Jackson said Willie was trying to hit a home run, that does not mean he was actually trying to do it.

He was trying to drive the ball.

What do you want a hitter to do?

Not try and hit the ball hard, lay down a bunt with 1 out and AJP on first base?

What besides for hit the ball hard is Harris supposed to do?
