Rough 20 Games in a row

Featured Replies

Starting May 12th the Sox will play Balt(4games),Texas(6),Cubs(3),Angels(7), this will be a tough month.. If we can win about 13 games we will have a solid year....

How many games do you think the Sox will win

As PK would say, lets take each individual game for what its worth.

20-0

maybe 19-1

If we win 13 games over this stretch, we'll have a solid year????????

For starters, Texas has very little to no pitching, the Cubs entire team is in shambles, and the Angels, I feel, are rather overrated, especially in the rotation. Baltimore looks really solid thus far though, and that is the only series that scares the s*** out of me.

This stretch, compared to like all of August, is nothing.

Well, if they won 13 that would be a .650 clip, so do you really think that it's that tough a month?

When we play at the top of our game, we've shown we are better than anyone. If we stay healthy, anything is possible. But let's win today, and then concentrate on Tampa Bay.

One game at a time.

Right now, I'm extremely confident. We could hang with anyone.

Yeah...very overrated. :bang

scroll to bottom for pitching stats.

I think they have an adequate Rotation, and Bullpen. They have three real good starters right now, and two mediocre. The Bullpen is helping them a lot, as is ours. If they are overrated in their rotation, what are the Sox's rotation?

Colon's numbers surprise me a little, but he has been very solid thus far. I don't expect him to continue at the sub-3.00 ERA, but he could float around the 3.00's all year and it wouldn't surprise me at all. Probably their best starter.

Washburn is pitching over his head, very much the same as Duque is. His WHIP of 1.41 is higher than than his WHIP of the past 3 years(1.17 in 02, his best year, and than 1.25 in 03, a year his ERA was in the 4.60 range, and 1.33 last year, when his ERA was in the 4.40 range). His ERA is very misleading thus far. I am saying right now that if he keeps on giving up that many baserunners that his ERA will rise, much the same as Duque's will too.

Byrd and Lackey are about where I figured they'd be.

Escobar has made 1 start thus far, and is probably a 12-15 win, 3.50-4.00 ERA, 1.10-1.20 WHIP guy...very underrated overall.

I see 2 good starters and 3 mediocre starters...and while having 5 good starters is a very nice thing to have in getting to the playoffs, it has been proven that you tend to not win in the playoffs when that happens.

It seems like our team hasn't been looking ahead all year. I know I haven't.

He's made three starts, and has only given up 7 earned runs in 20.3 innings, and basically has a strikeout an inning at 19. Since he's come off the DL he's been solid. I like the Angles top three of Colon, Washburn, and Escobar. I don't think it's overrated, i haven't really heard as much hype from their rotation, as ours. I think they will fall to earth a little.....as will ours, but not enough to not get the job done like they have been doing.

I cant think of anyone that can beat us. I really dont think they will lose too many more games. I know they will, but the way they are playing right now anything can happen.

No one can stop us!!! :headbang :gosox3: :headbang

Well, we may lose 5 or 6 more.

We should be looking 1 game at a time but if I had to guess Id say 15-17

Washburn isn't that good at all. The past two seasons, he's been a little worse than Jon Garland. Unless he rediscovers his 2000-2002 years, he's an average pitcher.

Let's take series by series, right now we go into Tampa, where we should win at least two out of three. Then we have the biggest series this year in all of baseball, so let's see what we do in the next 7 before the look at the next 20.
