Hard to believe that Lamar Hoyt's name was only mentioned once. My gosh, if there was a pitcher that the Sox had that was unhittable, he was it. I believe that it was Earl Weaver from Baltimore that quoted the press as saying in "83 playoffs, "If we didn't win this game, it would have been all over if we had to face Hoyt for the final playoff game." When Hoyt got traded, I remember seeing an interview with Fisk in the locker room. When he was asked on how he felt about The Sox trading Hoyt, he turned around and looked at the reporter with an evil eye and said on camera..."I Think It's Stupid!!" He turned back around and didn't say another word. I'm sure that didn't make uncle Jerry all too happy!

I'd say half of the people here don't remember anything from the 80's, including me, otherwise I'm sure he'd be mentioned more than once.

As good as Hoyt was, there's a reason the guy was traded for a rookie SS with no power and no plate discipline.

Hoyt was a drug addict and his career was slowly burning out after 1983.

The Sox are lucky that they got Salazar, Gamble and Guillen for him.

Just remembering a few

I of course forgot the immortal Jose Valentin. WTF WAS I THINKING?!?!?!?!!?!?!111//!?!?!

I also forgot about Norberto Martin. Paco was the man

And Tony Phillips for the short while he was here. Man could that guy spit

Tim Lollar hates you

Gamble was traded WITH Hoyt TO the Sox. My bad.

Yeah, I forgot Tim Lollar and Bill Long.

Very true.

The Sox definitely dealt Hoyt when the time was right.

He was fun to watch while he was here, though.

The Milkman was definitley a favorite of mine too. I also kinda liked Mike Caruso. But Sirotka is my all-time favorite Sox pitcher. I loved that guy!
