Any reason why he wasn't throwing change ups?  I thought it may have been part of a strategic plan by him to only break them out on the third time through the lineup.  But I never saw them.

He threw one to Lee and that was it I believe.

I was also shocked to see very few changeups from BMac, like Cerb said he threw one to Lee and I don't think to anyone else. I find that a bit odd because some people have said his changeup is now one of his best pitches.

However, just getting back from the game I can't say that I'm unhappy with today's transpiriings. Really this is the first time after a Cub/Sox game loss that I'm not all that angry. Brandon pitched really well, I would have loved to see him stick out there in the 6th and really questioned the move at the time...but what can you do. He was practically outdueling Prior, and if this wasn't his first start it would have been great to see them both go the distance.

Physically, Brandon defintely has room to fill out a bit. He's very skinny, and if he puts some more muscle on, I'm sure that with his mechanics he should be able to add an mph or two on his fastball. He looked very composed out there, not getting too up or down, very much in the Garland-Buerhle mold.

So ya, we may have lost today but the future is bright for Brandon and the White Sox. It's really wonderful to see one of our pitching prospects live up to the early hype. Here's to BMAC! :cheers

If he can make the rotation next year its going to be very fun to watch out pitchers. While they been good this year Contreras and El Duque are very hard to watch. B-Mac, Garland, and Buehrle though since dont give up all those walks are a joy to watch. Garcia is in the middle to me.

I give it up for him, like the thread asks. Tremendous outing.

I think Oz wanted to make sure he had a positive experience and took him out

rather than risking what actually happened to Viz.

Anybody think Viz is in danger of losing his job? Do you think he brings much

to the table?

I thought McCarthy looked really good today and I didn't want to see Ozzie pull him. But one thing raised a concern and I haven't read all of the threads so this may have already been discussed. He got a lot of fly ball outs and very few groundouts. Will he be able to get away with this back at US Cellular?

Well Wrigley is as good of a hitters park as US Cellular so yes... also add in the fact the wind is blowing out makes Wrigley even a better hitters park.

Oh okay, then that was a very good change. I thought that was just a funky curveball. It had nice movement.

Ya, it was an awesome changeup, Lee was way ahead of it and swung right through it. Only flaw was he didn't throw it the rest of the game. Like I was mentioning with qwerty, I didn't once notice it thrown for a strike the rest of the evening (nor did i see it thrown again).

I'm guessing he wasn't very confident in it or was just throwing it all over the place during his bullpen session? Who knows, but I bet you'll see a lot more of it against Texas.

viacaino needs to be talked with, that or moved down to triple aaa for a couple of games

I thought when we brought Viz in one of his strong points was to be able to get lefties out..... instead he is Mike Jackson reborn.

BMAC is the s***. Too bad he got hosed by Ozzie, cuz the kid is obviously a big-time gamer.

B Mac showed a lot of moxie and poise out there yesterday. To be making your first MLB start in front of a hostile crowd, in a stressful series, and against a hated rival, and to perform like that was ballsy.

I think the kid's a keeper for sure.

And if "Gas Can" Vizcaino can't get things straightened out, then ship him down to Charlotte and bring up "Baj."

you mean the 4th stud in the Sox rotation

:bang

Be careful what you say about our rotation around here, there are some posters who will rip you a new one - even when you give them their props! :P

He was awesome. I just wish Ozzie would have given him a chance to get out of his own trouble instead of going to our resident gascan, Luis s***caino. After all, B-Mac already had 1 out in the inning. Oh well, I guess I'm more disappointed that didn't get to see him pitch more.

Luisa needs to be shuttled for Bajenaru. I can't believe Guillen entrusted BMac's game to his worthlessness.

Vizcaino = 45 Year old Mike Jackson

I'm not sure how this happened, but he is the exact same pitcher Jackson was during his tenure with the White Sox

Slider, Slider, Slider, fastball out of the zone, slider, hanging slider, slider, hanging slider, fastball...Its a joke

He used to be a 92-94 fastball pitcher with a good slider. Now hes a slider pitcher with a 91 mph fastball that he can't locate
