GAME THREAD 5-27-2005 SOX VS RANGERS

Everything is good when we hit under .200 for a week

Take off your f***ing Sox blinders and realize this team has big time deficiencies despite a good record.  I am sick of people just refuting valid points regarding team problems with, well we have a good record.

He's right though. Every losing streak even a 2 game losing streak results in this team sucks, blah blah blah. We'll probably win these next 2 games and we'll be the world series winners again, to many people are to low or to high after a single loss or win. We have some weaknesses but everyone does, they'll be fine no reason to go giving up. It gets ridiculous after every single loss, he's absolutely right about that.

Ahh, a few weeks ago you were asking us if we really though this team was a superior team cause they lost 3 in a row, then they started winning again.  Last week same crap, sox start winning again.  So of course a 2 game winning streak brings out the same junk,  they've been the best team in baseball since mid april and they still are, hitting slump or not.

I said I didn't think we were a superior team, and the main reason I said that was because I didn't think we would consistently be able to win 3-2 games, etc. over the course of the season. Hell, I even said I didn't think we were a superior team when some of our guys were still hitting. Our recent pathetic hitting performances have done nothing to make me think otherwise. Until we stop have 3 or 4 easy out batters in our lineup, we're not going to be a good offensive teams. It's sad to think of the days when Royce Clayton and his .250 avg was considered mediocre.

no wonder i dont post and just read. always get yelled at.  :P

WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH YOU, WHY DO ALWAYS JUST READ AND NEVER POST????

Great catch by Rowand but Shingo still sucks ass. Is he down 2-0 to EVERY single batter?

As I have told everyone over and over and over.

It's not losing it's being realistic that our offense is in the s***ter and is a piece of huge trash. If that continues the Twins will pass us in 2 weeks. We have to start hitting the f***ing ball.

My point is you've got so down on this team when they lose 2 or 3 in a row, they're in a stretch where they're playing very good teams while in a hitting slump and still a bit over .500 during this stretch. We don't have to blow this team up after every mini losing streak. Like I said I bet Jon and Mark win these next two then all will be right with the world.

We're the Dodgers of a few years ago. The problem with that is we play in a hitter's park. Once it gets warm out, it's going to be tough to continue to beat teams 3-2 at the Cell.

Guys I am worried about the offense but I am also worried about the bullpen. They have two guys at least who they need to get fixed. They are totally working around Shingo, he is not throwing strikes and Guillen hates that.

Vizcaino, Walker, and Shingo just had three of the ugliest innings that actually lowered all three of their ERA's.

I think it might be time to bring back the "Are you IN or OUT thread from 2004". :P

Even if we won the next two games, by a score of 3-1 and 2-0....I'd still say we have serious issues with this team.

Quickman told me the exact same thing about 3 weeks ago. I believe his words were the sox pitching won't hold up and they'll be out of first place within a week. Well within that week they expanded that lead. I shudder to think what this place we'll be like if we ever dont' have the best record in the game this year. :o

I think they'll win 1 of the next two and it's a .500 road trip.

WTF does pitching have to do with what I said?

He said that after 3 bad pitching games, I said this after 7 days of corpseball

I'm not so much upset about tonight's loss as we were never in a position to win. It happens.

But you absolutely can't have games like last night's performance, where the team just completely gives the game away.

Take everything from him with a grain of salt, and I hope he's reading this.

Nothing, my point was that he said the exact same thing about the team being out of first place within a certain time period. We all know the twins aren't going away but either our the sox, so get over it.

A couple positives from tonight...

1.) Shingo actually lowered his ERA to 4.72.

2.) Kevin Walker's ERA is still 0.00.

Considering our past West trips, I'll take that.

No, God damnit.

He overreacted after 3 bad pitching performances about a pitching staff that had been great all year.

Our offense hasn't been special all season and I am saying this after a week of poor hitting.

Agreed, we need you around here whitesoxjr27, you'd be a welcomed change.

So give up then.

Considering our past West trips, I'll take that.

It is a b**** watching this game and the one last nite and yes something needs to be done to shake up the offense.

But yeah, a long term view is in order here. The Twins have not really had a slump either.
