May 29, 200520 yr Wow, these guys are really bad. Shingo gives up homers like they're candy. Cotts can't EVER get the first batter that he faces out. And Vizcaino gets hit harder than a hooker holding out on her pimp. What guys can we go after via trade to help bolster our crumbling bullpen?

May 29, 200520 yr I just commented on this in the Notes from Texas thread. Cotts needs to work to get some consistency. He'll be back. Shingo on the other hand, put a fork in him. He's more then done. They (the hitters) know the book now. He will be successful only in certain situations, because the majors have caught his game and that's about it on that.

May 29, 200520 yr I see the Giants designated Matt Herges for assignment....he was decent last season but not so much this year...maybe he would be worth taking a flyer on if someone else doesn't nab him....

Given that description, how is Matt Herges any different than Vizcaino? My solution would be to try Bajenaru before going out to make any other moves (although he was terrible in his call-up last year). Still, Scott Sullivan type relievers will be available once teams start to sell off, we should be fine without having to give up too much.
