I'd say serious patience not balls.

it takes forever to get home after the game with the over crowded subway cars.

I walk over to the Green Line if I am heading north after a game. I doubt you lose more than 10 minutes on your trip, but I will only recommend that for day games. :P I can't vouch for the safety of that area even though I went to school right there at De.

But since I live on the South Side, I usually take the bus down to the 35th/Archer Orange line stop.

Either way, I almost always take the train instead of driving. As a college student, I have to take advantage of the student bus pass...

Okay, okay...

But, I guess the true irony here is that we got censored by a Libertarian.

Are you serious?  Everytime we go to Chicago, we take the El.  Never had a problem.

I had a bad experience my friend left me high and dry and i had to go home by myself. I remember I sat net to some homeless guy who was going off on a rant about how he used to be a "high rolla" and how he had the custom rims on s***. I didn't know where I was going and I was afraid to ask the people on the train. I tried the drivver nut he was such an ass. He said that ain't my job. Finally I asked this women who just got on and she got me home on the right route.

If you're going past 35th(going south) then you shouldn't take the Red Line unless you live in a neighborhood close to the stop. If you're going to Beverly, it's better to take the Red Line to downtown and get on the Rock Island.

LOL seriously. We all have our great el stories!

Really, though...I think the El is extremely safe. I've fallen asleep on the Orange, Green, Red, Brown, and Purple lines countless times and have never had any problems. My only complaint is the cubs fans that crowd the Red Line and ruin my power nap on my way to school...

By the way, if a guy on the El approaches you asking if you would like to participate in an extremely quick psychology experiment for DePaul, please say yes. I have a few to do in a short amount of time, but the good news is that I'm essentially done..

:gosox3:

I wouldn't mess around trying to get tickets for this series. I would just get on whitesox.com and pay face value. These tickets are going to sell pretty well, I think.

What's wrong with the 'El"????

I think it's one the best, truly Chicago experiences. Yes, the wait can be lengthy and the trains will be full leaving the game, but the few times I've driven to the game, it took me a lot longer to get home that way. Getting to my car sucked, getting out of the lot sucked, getting on the highway sucked AND I paid a s***load more than what the train costs.

There is nothing wrong with the El, if it works for your situation. Its just some dopes perpetuating stereotypes...

Dopes.. :rolly

I don't like the El.. for no other reason than I would rather drive. And if I have to wait anywhere I would rather wait in my car alone than with a zillion other people on a train.

I had bad experiences with the buses (which is why I will only ride them about once a year), but never had a bad experience on the El.

To each his own. The way I see, I'll save the money on parking and gas and ride the El. It sux getting home no matter how you slice it, you might as well save a little loot. That's just me though.

Thanks for the advice guys... It sounds like I will go about getting tickets right off the Sox webpage. I am amazed at how much more expensive it is compared to Twins tickets. Granted the dome sux!

The thing is they are cheap compared to teams like the Cubs, Red Sox and Yankees.

I've said it to countless people before but the metra rail would make a s***load of money if their rock island route would just put a stop by the cell. I mean it goes RIGHT by the stadium ont he side of the ryan but doesn't stop there. I know i'd take that everytime instead of paying 17 for parking.

......$17.00 for parking, then add gas prices nowadays and that's the price of another ticket to another game.
