June 18, 200520 yr I suppose the one thing that doesn't help Mark being recognised to "others" as a superstar pitcher is he doesn't strike out batters a lot, like other pitchers with better stuff. He has 67 on the year from 108IP, or 5.58 K/9. Johan Santana has 121 on the season so far. That doesn't mean Mark isn't as good of a pitcher though. He's crafty, eats up innings (tied for the season lead with Halliday), and doesn't walk very many hitters at all. We're very lucky to have him in our rotation.
June 18, 200520 yr Contrary to some peoples' beliefs, you don't have to be a big strike out pitcher to win.

There's no doubt and we all know that around here, I just think dbaho is pointing out that is why Mark doesn't necessarily get the pub that the other aces around the league get(correct me if I'm wrong db). June 18, 200520 yr QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 03:37 AM) So does that make it like 40 consecutive starts of atleast 6 innings? Amazing! It's 42 I believe(not 100 percent sure on that) however you look at that, it's truely amazing.
