June 21, 200520 yr Brian Carlwell Carlwell bio Trent Meacham apparently will walk on CBS Sportsline Bio
June 21, 200520 yr I've ben hearing a lot of good things about Carlwell, now I just actually realized who he was. This kids game is a disaster. He needs a TON of work.
June 21, 200520 yr Meacham was the #29 prospect at PG and a 3 star according to Rivals from the class of 2004, and with a redshirt, he gets 3 years with the Illini. He could key a key role player a la Jack Ingram (although not the same position) for the Illini. Carlwell is raw, but has an absolute boatload of potential, exciting to see him committ, sounds like he loves Illinois too.
June 22, 200520 yr I hope he does. That would be fantastic. It would make the Illini favorites to win the Big Ten again and a possible Final Four contender again with him.
June 22, 200520 yr QUOTE(TheDybber @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:11 AM) Do we have enough spots available for these players + Rush + Sherron Collins? Definitely. We had an extra 2005 scholly that we can use on Rush (if not, it goes into the bank for 2006) and Meacham is walking on, so we aren't even using a scholly on him.
June 22, 200520 yr QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:03 AM) why did Richard Semrau go from a 4 star recruit to a 3 anyone know? Because Rivals is retarted. Use the IlliniBoard for that kind of stuff, much more accurate with rankings and is always the first one to break recruiting news. (And no, I dont run the site or anything like that ). June 22, 200520 yr Brandon Rush withdrew from the NBA draft, but that doesn't mean he's off to college. Rush, a wing from Mt. Zion Christian Academy (N.C.), had a successful run in the Chicago pre-draft camp. NBA personnel were intrigued with his candidacy for the draft, albeit as a second-round prospect. Rush wasn't able to garner any first-round interest, so he pulled out of the draft Tuesday. But according to multiple sources, he has college eligibility issues. The unsigned Rush said in Chicago that he would go to Oklahoma, Illinois or Missouri if he withdrew from the draft, but sources close to the recruiting process told ESPN.com Tuesday night that Oklahoma wouldn't pursue him because he isn't likely to be eligible. Sources said he would likely end up at a junior college or maybe even a prep school for a year before going into the NBA draft in 2006. Rush got the necessary exposure to put his name high on draft lists for next season. His status could change if he applies himself in the next month, but it appears unlikely. OrangeBlazer posted that on Illiniboard. That sucks. He's probably going to go JuCo.

June 23, 200520 yr Nah. It just said he won't be going to OK, which has much tougher qualification standards than Illinois.
June 23, 200520 yr That is very true. Even if we do get Rush though it seems like it'd be for one season only. The only bad thing about that is that he might be more concerned about his individual stats rather than the team as a whole. Either way, I still want him on the squad.
