I know his OBA is always really good, but until he can get his average consistently above .270 (with more than 50 abs) he needs to hit fifth, or at the highest, fourth. Big Hurt would bat 4th, but Konerko needs his protection so it all makes sense. This isn't a move that's discipling Thomas, but more like helping Rowand and Konerko. Not only that but he is on pace to hit about 47 homers. You put your best hitter in the 3rd spot, thats it. he is our best hitter. You cannot make the case that A-row is a better hitter than Frank because his average is higher. He does not protect hitters behind him and in front of him like Frank does, and will never scare the opposing team like Frank does. And nobody will get on base like Frank does. I could buy that a lot more if Frank wasn't splitting time with Everett essentially. Usually he would be playing everyday, which he has not been. Everett is still seeing a decent amount of PT at Frank's expense. Plus Frank has earned the right to lose his spot in the batting order.
