If estimates hold when final grosses are tabulated on Monday, the fantastic opening for the super hero flick Fantastic Four will have led the industry to its first gain over 2004 in 20 weeks breaking a box office slump plaguing the film business for months. The $100M Fox actioner debuted with a spectacular $56M over the Friday-to-Sunday period, according to estimates, generating the third largest opening of the year. Fighting doom in 3,602 theaters, the PG-13 film averaged a potent $15,547 per site.

I went to it the other night. If it wasn't for Jessica Alba, I would've walked out. If you really want to see it, wait until it comes out on video. I could've spent that $6.50 on gas, at least I didn't drive to the theater.

Just debating whether I should get dragged to it with my friends or not. In this case i'll pass and play poker or something instead.

 

I've never been big on comics but than a few of my pals seem to want to see every comic book movie. This one just didn't look interesting to me, although it sure as hell got enough hype.

Most of the movie is about how they become the fantastic 4 and than trying to to find a way to become normal again. Their is really only 1 action scene when they fight the evil guy and it isnt even that long.

 

So if your looking for a movie with a lot of story its good if you looking for a lot of fighting and stuff than not for you.

 

Overall it was a good movie but far from great. If they make a sequel I really hope there is a bit more action.

The special effects were really subpar, the acting (largely due to the horrible writing) was weak, and the story didn't seems to follow the comics OR make any sense.

Why would you complain about Jessica Alba stripping for no reason? I think the special effects were awesome and acting was fine its just that when you see a movie based on a comic book you expect action and there just wasnt much.

The movie f***ing sucks. If Jessica Alba's ultra fine ass wasn't in it, it would probably be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. However Jessica Alba's fine ass was in it. So it is OK.

If you really want to see it, go see it. If it is a movie you have looked forward to, at all, never let somebody else's opinion sway your choice. This is coming from a guy who does reviews for magazines and websites.

this box-office weekend has just secured us about 5 years of absoultely horrible movies.

 

please dont support a movie that the producers realized was so bad that they needed to advertise on my SBC telephone bill.

I cannot remember the last time I was "shocked" by a movie ending.

I havent seen a movie in a while, thats because everytime I risk paying I get screwed.

 

I LOVED Get Shorty, I thought it was a cool movie so I thought they couldnt kill the sequel.... long story short. I'll rent em from blockbuster.

Hide and seek was awful. I thought to myself, "A scary movie with Robert DeNiro...that has to be good." I went with a few of my friends and we figured out who the bad guy was about 20 minutes into it. We both agreed that it was the biggest disappointment of the year.

The next Jessica Alba movie I see better have her naked. I'm getting sick of this half-naked bulls***.

 

I'm looking for more now.

I'd much rather have seen Dark Water this weekend.

got back from seeing it tonight. i almost literally got dragged to it but in the end i'm glad i was. i expected nothing of it but it actually turned out to be a pretty good flick. it had it's share of flaws and really corny moments--some of the acting was a stiff, takes a while to get used to chicklis (sp?) as the thing (not that he was bad in the role or anything cause i love chicklis but it just took awhile--for me anyway--to believe it), and at times it tried to be too funny, but overall i'd recommend it. if nothing else but to check it out on dvd.
