Are Any Of You Pissed?

All of that voting and Pods doesn't touch the ball? I'm not, but I was wondering what your thoughts would be. :gosoxretro:

I voted my ass off, and no.

No I wasn't pissed, it would of been awesome to see him get a AB, I got really happy when he was on deck.

wasn't pissed actually voted like a mother too but didn't want some freak injury...as it was he got in the game...i think that Francona was going to pinch run in the 8th if a man wouldve reached and didn't happen..got to play the field managed perfectly except wouldve come immediately with MRivera

If an OFer was one of the 4 guys to bat that inning then, yeah, you'd have been right. However it didn't work out that way and he was on deck if Pudge was to reach against Cordero.

I really wanted him to steal in the game, oh well. Am I upset he didn't get to? Yeah. The point remains that he was the last guy voted in, so if anybody on the team shouldn't touch the ball, it's him. Francona did his best to get everybody in and Scott Pods at least played.

I got pissed when IRod struck out with Pods on deck, but I quickly got over it. I think it was a good night for our guys.

Damn right I'm pissed but oh well.

We got him an extra $100,000 salary and he didn't get injured......no way I could be pissed

I doubt Pods is even pissed. He got into the game anyways, (I know it wasn't for the reason we were all expecting). Like DABearSoX, we got the guy a raise. Also, it's got to feel really great to be supported like that. The way the Sox fans and the organization got behind him for this was pretty special.

I saw an interview with Pods before the game and he was on cloud 9. It was great to see his excitment and he even said he didn't think he would get in and it was just a great honor to be selected.

I'm just happy another White Sox made it. and I'm sure Scotty feels the same way. Its tough to use a player with out any offensive production in an all-star game. OBP doesnt mean much to the managers.

Wow, that's a naive statement.

I think youre taking this the wrong way. I didnt put it that clearly. Scotty is not a flashy player that you would find in a typical all star game. That's what I meant. He doesnt have much pop, isn't a very good fielder, and is best when he can disrupt a game with his speed on the basepaths. Not a typical all-star type player.

That's true I suppose. Back in the day there were a lot of Scott Pod type guys in the league. Not so anymore.

Given that with the expanded rosters and how they are supposed to save guys for extras, the last man on is kind of least deserving in PT so it doesn't bother me at all that he only played the field. Nice AB by Konsucko by the way.

Absolutely not. And you know why? Rob Dibble.

The Trib called Pods "Moonlight". I like it, and I hope it sticks.

Let's hope this first All-Star appearance of Pods will lead to many more... :D

^yeah

I was more pissed that Paulie didn't get a hit to help his teamate get an at bat. I was like damn you PAULIE!!! lol Well at least Buehrle got the big W!!!

I'm not pissed and trust me, Scott isn't pissed either.

I think he banked $75G when it was all said and done after his selection.
