October 29, 200520 yr QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 10:20 PM) redandwhite won't be here for a few days. Noticed New Trier lost in the first round at home to Glenbrook South. I can't call it an upset because both teams are pretty good. Stevenson may of caught a break and a Warren vs. Stevenson re-match looks like it could happen in 2 weeks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm here, just very dissapointed. Team came out flat as if they were getting geared up for Stevenson next week. It's too bad, it really is, because GBS isn't nearly as good as New Trier, but it just goes to show that anything can happen in High School football.
October 30, 200520 yr Lemont won and we get to play the 8th seed Rochelle (who beat 1 seed Sterling) at home next week.
October 31, 200520 yr Downers Grove North with a first round shutout. Looking to beat the crap out of Barrington to advance once again.

GBS will play stevenson tight it can go either way but GBS's star linebacker is out for the next game
November 3, 200520 yr QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 07:14 PM) no GBS just came out to play and shoved it right down new triers throt. GBS will play stevenson tight it can go either way but GBS's star linebacker is out for the next game Two things: 1) According to the posts in this thread, New Trier won the first meeting between them. GBS won the second, and it was the one that counted. Apparently neither game was very close. So, taking these things into account, I don't think you can say one if definitively better than the other--you can just say GBS did better when it counted. 2) I normally don't do this, but it's really getting on my nerves. Please learn proper grammar/spelling. I'm honestly not trying to sound mean, it just makes your posts harder to read.

Warren vs. Maine South could go either way. I know Warren won the first game rather convincingly even though the final score was only by 10.
November 3, 200520 yr QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 11:39 PM) Why does it matter? 8A belongs to Brother Rice. hahahahaha, how is brother rice even in 8a?
November 3, 200520 yr QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) hahahahaha, how is brother rice even in 8a? A lot of people go there. I believe thats how they do it. They are one of the best football programs in the state. Just hopefully we'll not choke in the playoffs for once. Rice did win the Prep Bowl Championship Playoffs last year, so I guess we don't choke all the time. Rice takes on Stagg at Stagg tommorow. We'll cruise.

Haha. I know I'm being too cocky. On purpose of course, because its high-school football. However, I hardly believe DGN is the favorite here, especially with one of the best teams in the country in 8A. Edit: Yes, we are ranked 3 in our bracket. They also ranked Stagg ahead of Rice though. We played the hardest schedule of anyone in HS football, we should be prepared. Edited November 3, 200520 yr by Buehrle>Wood

I do believe we werent the favorite last year and rolled over everyone.

November 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) Why does it matter? 8A belongs to Brother Rice. I'll take a stab at this one... Stagg 28 Rice 24

November 5, 200520 yr From the ChicagoSports webpage: New Trier 37, Glenbrook South 24 37-24=13 Still, a smaller margin than 19, but still not close.
November 5, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 10:22 PM) Stevenson only wins by 25. :headshake Not bad for your last win of the year.

November 5, 200520 yr QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 5, 2005 -> 08:24 AM) Defending class 7A champions, Libertyville Wildcats...THEY GONE!
November 6, 200520 yr Lemont beat Rochelle today. It was well worth the hour plus drive. It sucks though because we have Rock Island next which is 2 and a half hours away, so I don't know if I'll be attending that. However, if we win that game, we should be home for the semi-finals. If we aren't then all the other schools that we would play are 4+ hours south.
