Since there's so much about Hawk's announcing as of late here on these threads,I thought I make this poll asking all Sox fans (young and old),about who's the better Sox play-by-play man.

So feel free to vote, and explain why you voted for him (or her).

My choice, much as I like Hawk, and really enjoy John Rooney on the radio,I gotta say Harry because before he went to evil side of town,he made Sox games fun to both watch and listen, espically when he had Jimmy Piersall as his color man.

How many times have we had this poll here?? :huh

Cut me some slack,i'm kind new here.

LOL!! Don't mind me, I'm not a fan of Polls. I think Thornes was here for the 90 season too. Thorne has a good voice, i enjoy listening him with the Mets

3 topics in 1 minute. Wow. new record.

We had Harry when he was good, before he became a caricature of himself, and half drunk.

I wouldn't seriously vote DJ, but "uh oh, bye bye" entered my vocabulary way faster than anything I've ever picked up from an announcer.

I'm old enough to remember Harry. He was great, absolutely great.

In fact, one of his sidekicks got fired after one season. I can't remember the guy's name, but he was not an ex jock. It was back when they had 2 real trained announcer types. There was a rain delay in a doubleheader and I was listening and I heard the most incredible half hour "conversation" between Harry and the sidekick to kill the rain delay. The team sucked that year and they were so critical the sidekick was replaced after the season. They couldn't replace Harry. Harry ripped the team for firing his sidekick. I know it's because of that rain delay conversation when they for 30 minutes blasted everybody on the team, front office, etc. I was amazed. Harry was incredible.

An admin should totally rig this poll....

You mean like when Luis Vizcaino had 1000027 (probably not the exact number) votes which was something like 358% of the vote in the poll on who should be sent down to Charlotte?
