September 9, 200520 yr QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) Based on what? Their 3-10 record against us? Jose Contreras owning their team? (Look at his career stats) Mark Buehrle nearly throwing a perfect game against them? They are a team built on offense that can easily be shutdown by great pitching. They have a great bullpen, and their starting pitching, but their offense can be, and has been shutdown by pitchers like Buehrle, Garland, Garica, and Contreras. f*** the Indians, but I hope we play them in the ALCS. Our offense just got shut down by J.P. Howell. Don't get me wrong. I feel we're a better team than the Indians, but it's not by nearly as much as some are making it out to be.

I feel we're a better team than the Indians, but it's not by nearly as much as some are making it out to be. I don't think highly of the Indians and I think we're MUCH better then them. I think the tribe are the worst team out of the wildcard bunch but that's obviously jmo.
September 9, 200520 yr QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 10:56 PM) Our offense just got shut down by J.P. Howell. Don't get me wrong. I feel we're a better team than the Indians, but it's not by nearly as much as some are making it out to be. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When the playoffs roll around I'll take a great pitching staff over a gerat hitting team. We have a 10-3 record against the Indians this season, and the last time we played them we swept their asses in a 4 game series at a empty Jacobs Field. When their starters pitch a great game, our starters pich an even better game. I really hope the Yanks win the AL East, the Angels win the AL West, and the Indians win the Wild Card.
September 9, 200520 yr Good thing we had a good week (winning some games that coulda gone either way!) cause the Tribe keeps winnin and winnin and winnin. If they don't stop winnin, I'm gonna be whining!
September 9, 200520 yr Potential playoff teams ranked in the order that I fear them, from most to least: Oakland Anaheim Boston NY Cleveland If we get past the West, I like our chances.
September 9, 200520 yr I'd actually rather we faced the Angels in the first round. I think Boston will finish with the second best record meaning they'd play either the winner of the AL West or the Indians. If the Indians make the playoffs, Boston would play them. We'd have to square off against the AL West winner, and, frankly, I'm a little tentative about facing the A's... ok I'm actually crapping my pants thinking about facing the A's. The Angels are very similar to the WSox, but I think the Sox hold a slight intangible edge. Hopefully Cleveland could get lucky and take the BoSox because I'd much rather face the team that we've dominated this year rather than the team that won it all last year.
September 9, 200520 yr The Angels currently have a 1 game lead over the A's in the West. If the playoffs started today... Angels Vs. White Sox Indians Vs. Red Sox

September 9, 200520 yr QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 11:46 PM) That is about exactly what I'm rooting for. That would be absolutely fine with me.

September 9, 200520 yr QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 12:49 AM) Same here. I've never liked Anaheim's SP as far as the playoffs are concerned...Washburn is mediocre, Escobar can't stay healthy, Paul Byrd is a soft-tosser that gets hit around a lot(which reminds me of Buehrle a little bit, but at the same time, doesn't, because, to me atleast, they are different types of pitchers), Lackey allows all kinds of baserunners(as seen by his 1.37 WHIP this year), and Santana is just unbelieveably on and off rigt now. Colon is good, but, considering he can bring it at 95-98, his stuff is not unbelieveably good. Their pen isn't deep, and their offense, while explosive, is pretty inconsistent all around. I also think Cleveland is a bigger threat than everyone else appears to think. Sabathia has been nearly untouchable his last 7 or 8 starts, Millwood has put up like a sub 3.00 ERA and a sub 1.10 WHIP in the second half, and Cliff Lee is having a very good 2nd half of the season, as opposed to last year's 7.91 ERA in the second half(then again, he hasn't faced the Sox in the second half yet either...the Sox were the team that put him into that huge slide last year)
September 9, 200520 yr Let's just say for a second that Chicago AL won the big series at the end of the season. Would media outlets like ESPN continue to ignore this franchise and act as though they do not exist? I could see the top story on Sportscenter being how disappointing it was that the Bo Sox couldn't get back to the WS rather than how the other Chicago team won it all.

When you're running naked down a North Dakota street in late October, with it probably snowing, and you screaming your f***in lungs out, I don't think you're gonna care too much whether or not ESPN ignores you.

Just write White Sox 05 Champs on your body and then you can maybe get on SC
September 9, 200520 yr OK, maybe naked may be taking it too far. I'll atleast run around in my house while stripping. And hell, why not write some s*** on my body. Probably something like "ESAD (insert team Sox beat)" on my chest and "SOX WIN!" on my back
September 9, 200520 yr If the Sox and Angels match up in the playoffs I will be happy. I got my tix ready for those games
