Since when was Nebraska on par academically with ND, Michigan, UCLA, or Stanford.  C'mon.  If you want academics AND good football, you go to ND, Big Ten...well, some of the Big Ten, maybe Texas, Stanford, Berkeley, that's about it that I can think of.  But Nebraska?

I mean, you know what the "N" stands for on their helmets, don't you?

K"N"owledge.

Back up your statement with facts not stale jokes.

Fact: The University of Nebraska Cornhusker football team has produced more Academic All-Americans than any other Division I school.

I am waiting from a response from you with some facts backing up your statement.

Just take a look at rankings at PrincetonReview.com, ND, Michigan, UCLA, and Stanford blow Nebraska out of the water academic wise. But, football academics is a completely different story. Very few programs outside the Ivy league, Duke, ND, and Stanford have their football academic standards raised also. Michigan and UCLA entrances into football are probably no more strict than somewhere like Nebraska. Its pretty much impossible to pull in great recruiting classes with all scholars. There just aren't that many of them out there, thats why Stanford, and Duke struggle so much in football. Notre Dame didn't have quite the standards of a Duke/Stanford, but they had higher standards and were lucky to have their program held in such high esteem that alot of smart kids who happened to be able to play football wanted to come there.

Nebraska took in 13 Juco's last year. Schools like ND, Stanford, etc could never do that.

I never said Nebraska was on par with ND or Stanford, but all athletes get strong strong academic support at Nebraska. Their graduation rate is above 90% and as someone else posted earlier they have more academic all-americans than any other institution.

As far as Juco's go, wasn't Tony Rice a Juco? Besides, what's wrong with taking a chance on certain kids? Some people mature later than others and it takes them longer to get their priorities in order....what I mean is maybe they goofed off in HS but now have their act/s together. What's wrong with giving them a shot?

Nobody has to agree with MY list, just don't go posting erroneous/misinformed information.

Wow, Mack Brown coached at ISU....gives me another reason to like them...:)

I also pull for Northern Iowa.

Not to mention that Lawrence Phillips taught most of his girlfriends self defense. The old fashioned way. :fight

Yeah, but that was an invidual problem, not the institution's fault. He would've flipped out at any school he attended. Every school has its share of bad seeds....

You mean other than the DePaul football team?

I was at FSU for a couple of years, so I'll go with them.

Even though I went to the home games when I was there (plus road trips to Clemson and Miami), I didn't grow up watching them or anything (nor did I graduate there), so I don't really follow them a whole lot. It's also fun to piss off old friends from there and root against them, but I did enjoy the win over Miami this year.
