Wildcard

Featured Replies

I heard a funny take on the radio. The Sox are actually losing on purpose in order to secure the wildcard. The reason behind this is b/c the past few World Series Champions have come through via the wildcard. Not a bad idea...at least it explains the losing.

They got something in the water in Indiana? Cause I tink you crazy!

Its not funny to joke about the sox purposely losing. Considering their bad history with that...... :banghead

That's about as dumb as the people who think the Sox are better off not making the playoffs instead of winning the Wild Card.

What's the logic behind that one?

Saving ourselves the aggravation...I guess...these would be the people who think we'll be swept in the first round.

A psychologist would have a field day with some of the defense mechanisms I've seen by people on this board lately. My personal favorite is that the Sox have nothing to lose.

That's the dumbest thing I've heard all day. Thanks.

See, I think if we win the divison and face Anaheim, it will be very tough. If we lose the division and win the WC and possibly face the East, then I like our chances.

Our Wildcard magic # is 8. For those of you who think we will make it via the wildcard.

I would buy it, but there is 1 problem.

It is the NL's turn to have a Wild Card winner win it all.

Anaheim(AL)-Florida(NL)-Boston(AL)-???

Maybe they'll let us and Houston switch for the next 2 months.
