Marte's ERA is now 3.71 with a 1.65WHIP. vs Neal Cotts ERA at 1.92 and a .1.03WHIP Does Ozzie even look at stats.
September 20, 200520 yr ...good lord... why does Ozzie think Marte can get anybody out, much less lefties??? I haven't said it yet...but by placing Marte as our closer...we might really be done for the year. What is Cotts contract like? I would be REALLY pissed if I was that guy. September 20, 200520 yr Why not. You've already lost 12.5 games in less than 2 months, why not try to lose 12 more in 2 weeks. I haven't lost hope...but things are looking grim.
September 20, 200520 yr Over the last 3 seasons, Marte has saved 21 games and has blown an amazing 17 saves. Why wouldn't he be our closer?

Joe Borchard is showing some hitting ability, but he sits while Everett and Dye struggle. Anderson was used much more than Borchard and he only had one good game. Why go over the stats and names again. I think they have all been beaten to death. Maybe all this will pay off in the end, but on the other hand we have seen 13 games lopped off our lead too. September 20, 200520 yr IMO Ozzie needs to quit sticking up for the people who aren't getting the job done. He's too true to his players and that is what has helped lead to their demise. He should just play the guys who are doing good and give him the best chance to win. Also, sitting a guy will hopefully get their heads out of their asses and help them realize they need to play better.
