September 29, 200520 yr QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) Jose Contreras has to start game 1. He's become a true ace and a stopper. I agree, been the hottest pitcher since the break
September 29, 200520 yr No gripes with your lineup and rotation. Edited September 29, 200520 yr by ZoomSlowik
September 29, 200520 yr yeah i like Gload being in the playoffs. Id like to see him get some playing time in the upcoming series with clevland.
September 29, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(go-sox05 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) yeah i like Gload being in the playoffs. Id like to see him get some playing time in the upcoming series with clevland. I would like to see him start all 3 games. We need a LH power threat off the bench, and he's all we got.
September 29, 200520 yr QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) Jose Contreras has to start game 1. He's become a true ace and a stopper. It looks like we can set this up perfectly. Jose for game 1, Mark, Freddy, Jon. We should be good to go.
September 29, 200520 yr I'd like to see the reserves, but I don't want complete reserves. I don't want to have a lineup of: C-Raul Casanova 1B-Ross Gload 2B-Willie Harris 3B-Pablo Ozuna SS-Geoff Blum RF-Brian Anderson CF-Timo Perez LF- Joe Borchard DH - Chris Widger I'll puke if I see more than 3 of those guys starting in any of the games this weekend.
September 29, 200520 yr you only got 23 on the roster. Take McCarthy & El Duque and Hermy & Jenks. However, I don't see Gload - Ozzie doesn't like him. Pencil in Blum.
September 29, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(MinnySoxFan @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) McCarthy instead of Garland maybe? Are you kidding me? That would be the ultimate insult to a guy who won 17 games. McCarthy should be the long guy, in case 1 of the starters doesn't have it.
September 29, 200520 yr QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) Are you kidding me? That would be the ultimate insult to a guy who won 17 games. McCarthy should be the long guy, in case 1 of the starters doesn't have it. Similar to the Danny Haren role.
September 29, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(longshot7 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) However, I don't see Gload - Ozzie doesn't like him. PENCIL IN BLUM :puke NO!!!!!!!!!! Edited September 29, 200520 yr by CYGarland
September 29, 200520 yr Can Gload even be on the Playoff roster? Didn't you have to be called up before September 1st to do so?
September 29, 200520 yr Wow! Dump Garland for McCarthy? I thought everybody would say El Duque. Although, if he's the playoff ace... Hmm. But DEFINITELY start Contreras first. No doubt. I agree with the lineups. And goddammit Podsednik, start STEALING BASES! I don't care you're hurt. Then RUN FASTER!
September 29, 200520 yr JC should start game 1, he is the dominant power pitcher that everyone loves in the playoffs.
September 29, 200520 yr QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) I'd like to see the reserves, but I don't want complete reserves. Angels did this last night - it was hilarious. We should do it for saturday - let the regulars sleep in.
September 29, 200520 yr QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) I would like to see him start all 3 games. We need a LH power threat off the bench, and he's all we got. I don't understand some peoples ifatuation with Gload. He's not a power hitter and he hasn't started all season. Now he is going to start three games in the playoffs.
September 29, 200520 yr Garcia came out and pitched great today, I hope he can bring that to the playoffs. If Contreras can stay like he's been, we will have a very deep pitching staff going into this. Hernandez and McCarthy in the bullpen should help us.
September 29, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) I'd like to see the reserves, but I don't want complete reserves. Well i think PK, Rowand, AJ, and Uribe could use some much needed time off. I'd let PAblo, Gload, Timo, and Widger get some playing time in this weeken to get them prepared for the playoffs.
September 29, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(shakes @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 02:06 PM) I don't understand some peoples ifatuation with Gload. He's not a power hitter and he hasn't started all season. Now he is going to start three games in the playoffs. NO. 3 games this weekend in Cleveland
September 29, 200520 yr QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) NO. 3 games this weekend in Cleveland My bad.
September 29, 200520 yr Rotation: #1 Contreras, #2 Buerhle, #3 Garcia, #4 Garland Long Relief: BMac, El Duque. Short Relief: NCotts, CPolitte, Marte, Jenks, Hermanson Lineup: #1 Pods, Iguchi, Jurassic, Kong, Dye, Uribe, AJ, Crede, Rowand I think Uribe & Crede have proven themselves late to move up. I see Rowand as the weakest hitter in the lineup right now. Bench:Widger, Gload, Harris, Ozuna, Anderson Edited September 29, 200520 yr by JUGGERNAUT
September 29, 200520 yr 2 small differences from Juggs. 1. I leave El Duque off the playoff roster in favor of Viz. Viz has simply been better. 2. You only have 24 people on your 25 man. Include Timo as a backup outfielder and you're set. 3. Blum versus Gload? Gload is better with the bat, but Blum can also play 3b.
