ALCS tickets on sale Thursday

Are they selling SRO tickets?

They had 40,717 at the game yesterday, which is 1000 more than any other game they have had in 2005, so I would guess they sold 1000 SROs for the playoffs. I don't know if there is any way to verify that, but it is just an observation.

Field seats were added. If there was SRO, it wasn't on the 100 level.

There were seats added in along the lines. Those could have been like MLB seats for press, but from where we were sitting, it looked like fans...

George Ryan was sitting in front of the Mayor in those seats. He got booed all day..

I think I will give it a try today. If I get a couple GREAT! if not, oh well, I tried. I tried for division tickets in 2000 and got nada.

I'm confused. This morning they showed people lined up at the box office for tix. I thought I read there would no sales from the box office and it was only phones and internet.

What's the deal?

One of the IT guys I work with was just asking me about that. According to everything I have seen, they are only available online or via phone. :huh

I'm gonna be pissed if this is a blunder. I would have gladly lined up, but every e-mail says no box office sales. That line on TV this morning was pretty long.

For those of you who were at the game yestreday, did they make an announcement at the park last night or something?

Here's what it says in the 2nd paragraph of the ALCS tix announcement:

Tickets will be available only through TicketMaster - by phone at (866) SOX GAME and (312) 559-1212 and online at whitesox.com. Tickets will not be sold at ticket outlets or at the U.S. Cellular Field Box Office. A limit of four tickets per person per game will be instituted on all sales.

Hey guys, does anyone have any tips in terms of what browser to use, if having more than one window open at once is better than not, if you can call at 11:45am and keep an agent on the phone for 15 minutes until tickets go on sale....etc.

So, who is going to Boston

One thing not to do is hit refresh too many times, because it will lock you out of the system as an automated purchaser.

Yeah, I read that, but I get the feeling the box office will be selling.

From what they said on the news, the line started forming last night after the game and was still there this morning. You'd think at some point someone from the park would have told those people there would be no box office sales.....unless there will be.

Get this, my buddy just told me that on CLTV they did a 5 minute piece on the Sox. They had a camera crew at the park with everyone in line and even did a few interviews. After the segment ends, they cut back to the anchor who says: 'Sox fans should know that tickets will only be sold via internet and over the phone".

hey guys, does anyone know if I get through both on the phone and on the internet, can I buy tix with two separate credit cards and will call eight, or will they shut me down at the box office when I try to pick up that many?

will 12:00 never come!?

No idea.. but maybe you can have one set mailed to you to avoid any potential issues..?

And FWIW, Ticketmaster claims that what you spend will be refunded if the games don't play. Specifically TM fees, but NOT shipping.

bah, theyre late! its 12:03

If the Sox aren't telling those people in line that tickets are not available at the windows, the Sox are stupid.

If the Sox ARE telling them that, then those people in line are stupid.

I really hope a riot doesn't break out at 12:01 when they get the bad news, especially with CLTV right there to cover it - "......well, Chet, there go those violent Sox fans again....."
