October 6, 200520 yr I told my son that Wakefield is going for Boston on Friday.. My son said why not on thursday have batting practice with a knuckleballer. So I said we have a knuckleballer in the minors. I knowit was used in this forum would it be legal to use on of our non roster players to pitch batting practice? What is our knuckleballers name?

October 6, 200520 yr The Yankees had some old knuckleballer pitch BP to them before the Wakefield game last weekend.
October 6, 200520 yr I seen this year Huntsville Stars use a Knucle Baller throw BP and they hit Blast after Blast and then come up against Haeger in 2 games in both Haeger threw complete game shutouts and the Stars managed 5 hits in the 2 games. And I talked to Manager Don Money he said that Knucle ballers vary so much that it taking BP against one does not help. That is what former major leaguer Don Money says I am not sure if I believe him or not
October 6, 200520 yr knuckleballers vary in grip, arm release, velocity, arm angle, height, drop, fastballs, etc. They are VERY different. If you watch Hough vs wakefield vs sparks, they all have different knucklers.

It may have been Frank Thomas or Bobby Jenks. Frank appearantly throws a wicked knuckleball and Jenks' knuckleball is like 80 MPH.

October 11, 200520 yr There must be a reason why Jenks doesn't throw his knuckler in game situations.
October 11, 200520 yr QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) There must be a reason why Jenks doesn't throw his knuckler in game situations. It's probably due to the fact that he can throw a 102 mph heater instead.
