David Wells

I remember Wells having back spasims during a game against the Cubs when he was with the Sox. But what else did he do to piss us off. I remember something about him leaving on bad terms or something.

Publicly doubted the legitimacy of Frank Thomas' injury, suggesting Frank was tanking it.

f***in' douchebag.

He said Frank was faking his injury or being soft when he tore the ligament diving for the ball at 1B.

Big Frank. When he said that Frank was faking his injury.

Yeah, and then like 5 minutes later, Fatass goes on the DL cuz his back couldn't handle the weight of his front.

Stupid Curly-looking piece of s***.

That and his s***ty 5-7 record!!!

He stole $7 million (or thereabouts), reported fat and out of shape, said deal with it - that's how he pitches and he knows his body, and proceded to get hurt and miss most of the season because he's a fat load.

The following season he signed with the Yankees and showed up in great shape (relatively) and had a good year.

Well, you can look at it another way... some of the pitchers on the roster openly say Boomer taught them some great things when he was here. So, is that worth it if we go on to win it all?

They would have found Rush street and White Castle eventually.

Mark Buehrle swears by Wells as his mentor.

By far, my least favorite ex Sox player.

Took a year off when came here. He only wanted to play in NY or Boston and when that didn't happen, he 'chilled' in Chicago.

Called Frank out in the press.

Was a total jerk at the bars, constantly dissing Chicago and getting hammered and into fights.

eh, he does that in every city he is in.

Who is this David Wells you are speaking of? Is that the 2005 ALDS Game 2 losing pitcher? Cuz that's how I will remember him.

Wells actually wanted to come back, saying he owed the White Sox.

But after the Thomas thing I dont think anyone really wanted him back.

And I thought we traded Mike Sirotka for him?

Not that he signed as a free agent.

So he never had a choice of Boston or NY.
