Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 1

That's what I like about Paulie not going hacking on 3-0. A few more pitches. Roger is a 100 pitch pitcher really.

25 pitches for Clemens on 4 batters. Good job guys.

The minute McCarver starts talking about his prostate is the minute he deserves to be tortured slowly ...

Good inning!

... did I mention I hate Clemens :)

I think people are either out for the game or home with friends or family so there aren't as many people at a comp by themselves. I will start going out for games as we get towards games 4-6.

Quick out

Ensberg flies out to dye, one out.

Lamb homers 1-1.

wow

s***

ugh

I hate it when the wind blows out. Both homers normally would not have been

Wind blowing out favors us.

Being a Yankee fan I have seen alot of that s*** from Contreras :puke

Conteras usually has one Bad inning every game, usually 3rd inning lets just hope this is it LOL

On a side note I love the fact we are Hitting the Ball and not just watching it blow past us... Hitting, even if grounding out, gives us a better change to get well more hits..

:rolly

I think you saw it quite a bit from over-the-hill Randy Johnson as well, huh? Like four Sox homers against him in one inning? This is not the same Contreras that pitched for the Yankees.

Being a Sox fan, I've seen Contreras blossom into a guy who was one of the best pitchers in baseball in the second half and a guy who has been outstanding in the playoffs.

Clemens gets the 3-1 pitch from the ump that wasn't a strike, and Contreras didn't get the call on the first pitch to Lamb. One of my biggest concerns coming in here was the strike zone that Clemens typically gets.

Yeah I'm impressed.

But Some people just can't handle the pressure in New York

take Contreras, Vazquez, Beltrain, Mo Vaughn, Jeromy Burnitz amd Roberto Alomar as examples

Both balls were hammered. I think we've seen enough games at the Cell to know the ball doesn't fly out when it's cold out. Even Ensberg got the good part of the bat on that fly ball, he just had nothing behind it.

Average BB/9 is 3.2

Joe West - 3.4 BB/9  (high side of average).

Derryl Cousins - 4.1 BB/9 (very high)

Not good for pitchers.

Jerry Layne - 3.5 BB/9 (high side of average)

Angel Hernandez - 3.2 BB/9 (average)

Gary Cederstrom - 3.2 BB/9 (average)

Jeff Nelson - 3.0 BB/9 (low side of average)

Yeah I'm impressed.

Or maybe it's because Mel Stottlemyre is a horrible pitching coach and didn't realize that Contreras was tipping his pitches with the Yankees. There's a reason Georgie-boy wants our pitching coach, Don Cooper.

Everett with a lead-off single.

You're welcome to be here, but just know we probably aren't going to be super friendly if you're here to point out our weaknesses during a period of super freakedoutedness.

Plus Contreras is not the same pitcher he was for the Yanks.
