Thanks for not bashing this guy. He was a good guy and a very good teacher. I hope that he gets this cleared up. Maybe he will learn his lesson.

Actually I would say that, yes, possessing child porn does take away from a person's teaching "skills."

for the record Josh, I think they're being a little hard on you. These guys have no emotional attachment to this individual and can easily judge him harshly without recourse. I'm sure you're mind is reliving a lot of emotions and memories to this guy's class.

Josh, people who harm children, think of children as sexual objects need to be removed from society. Remember the people who had Gacy at their birthday parties doing his clown bit probably where a bit shocked when they found out his other hobby was stuffing teen age boys in his crawlspace. Sometimes the coolest people have a few screws loose.

because his dad is a Social Studies teacher at WJHS. He might be fired he might not. It depends on what they find and if what he is saying is true. He is very respected among the parents.

Trust me Josh, he isn't anymore.

As a student director on my school board during my senior year (yes, the elected city one) I'm pretty sure 9 out of 9 would've voted for immediate termination. The two student directors, including myself, would support the decision, even if it was our favorite teacher.

 

I'm pretty sure he has to register as a sex offender (I'm not sure) and that would preclude him from working in a school.

 

He may be a good guy otherwise, and never hurt or touch a student. Even in that scenario, it's still a MASSIVE conflict of interest to have anyone like that work with kids. Just because the lion won't eat the zebra, you don't keep them in the same cage.
