December 14, 200520 yr We should get OC for our shortstop instead! Seriously, I don't want to give up Brandon. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This I would go for.. OF course Ervin Santana better be apart of that deal as well. WE would not be downgrading our D as much as we would be grabbing Tejada.
December 14, 200520 yr This is hilarious, people are saying don't get the very best SS in baseball because we have to give up a SS and a pitcher, and also we have people who are afraid of payroll like it's their own money. Unreal. This is Miguel Tejada, people. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah he the best SS..Umm on the 2005 World Series Champs.. How many players were the best at their postion?

December 14, 200520 yr QUOTE(JimH @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 09:48 AM) This is hilarious, people are saying don't get the very best SS in baseball because we have to give up a SS and a pitcher, and also we have people who are afraid of payroll like it's their own money. Unreal. This is Miguel Tejada, people. i think people are still in shock over what is happening this off-season, and refuse to let go of the cash-conscious way they have felt the last 20 years. I think our payroll is taking quite the hike this year... this is what winning a World Series does!
December 14, 200520 yr QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 08:50 AM) Damn right. And Miguel Tejada is at least as good as Uribe on his worst day defensively. I would take Uribe's glove any day of the week over Tejada's, but I do agree Tejada is a superior player, one of the best in baseball. I do love the fact KW is not standing pat with a world championship team. But I think he has to be careful not to thin out the pitching staff acquiring boppers. Uribe was good enough for the Sox to win it all in 2005. I think the Sox need to worry about filling in their depleted bullpen now. Tejada would be nice, I just think there are bigger needs.

December 14, 200520 yr 2 reasons Why we trade for Tejada: he is still only 29 He is underpaid IMO (comparing to the market) This is Miguel Tejada! He hit 150 RBI's in 2004 150!!! edit: thats more than 2 Edited December 14, 200520 yr by rangercal

December 14, 200520 yr Prediction: This will be one of the most active days, in terms of posts, ever on this board.
December 14, 200520 yr Jim, This is why I don't post anymore. Why in the world would we want the best shortstop in baseball and a top ten player in the game. We couldn't lose our precious Brandon Mcarthy. Why would we want to add payroll to get better players. Silly just silly

OC sucks. Both the player, and the show. Edited December 14, 200520 yr by santo=dorf

People become too attached to individual players and then you have other people who were wrong all year about the direction of the team, and guess what, they are wrong about this too. Miguel Tejada, you nail it, best in the game. But like you said, unreal.
December 14, 200520 yr QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) OC sucks. Both the player, and the show. Let's not get crazy here. The show friggin' rocks. Though Reunion is better.

Hell, I see more people attached around here with guys like Baj and McCarthy than I saw them with Frank. Tejada >> McCarthy & Uribe right now. And guess what guys, we're trying to win right now.

December 14, 200520 yr I LOVE Brandon McCarthy and am pissed the Sox traded Chris Young, but McCarthy and Uribe for Tejada is a no-brainer. I mean, not even a second of thought on that one. Of course, I would love it even more if the Sox shipped Vazquez and Uribe to Baltimore for Tejada.
