I know exactly what you're saying. For my sake, I love the small crowds. We would always be able to move down and get great seats. For the sake of the White Sox and our image, I'm thrilled to hear of the ticket sales. It's also going to be harder for me to get tickets next year because we live too far away to get seasons, but I'm not too upset about that.

Not me, I dont mind small crowds. Being a sox fan was never about popularity of the field or the team to me. There is a team on the northside for people who care about crowds.

The team dropped hints all over the place last year on how they were disappointed in not drawing attention and bigger crowds from the success they were having. I have never seen the Cell more energetic than what it was during the playoff run, its ignorance to not believe that helped the team gain momentum. I doubt there is one worhty player out there that would rather play in an empty house. Perhaps Delino Deshields in his hey dey??

 

 

How can a team gather motivation if there is nobody that cares... now obviously we all know this is not the case, but looking back on falling short the past few years during the stretch run with empty houses, I'll happily wait an extra 5 minutes at Beers of the World.

You have a point about the Cubs worrying about who wins the attendance trophy every damn year.

Maybe if the people that went to those games actually cheered and paid attention it would make somewhat of a difference. I've heard louder libraries than Sox home Wed. games. Worrying about bathroom lines is the last thing I'm concerned about when I am going to a White Sox game. I wasn't forced to go when there was 10,000 and I am certainly not forced when there is 40,000.

For me, the only difference between a game with 20K and 40K crowds is this:

I will NOT be driving to any games this year unless I can get there 90 minutes early or more.

The Sox parking people are completely unprepared to handle large crowds.

I'll park at the Midway Airport lot for 2 bucks and use my monthly pass to take the Orange and Red Lines to the game.

 

I don't really drink enough at games to make the bathroom problem a huge deal.

agreed. And im cool with that. IN fact, im excited. But Im just saying that IMO I dont mind having less people now and again. Its nice to have some space to watch the game and speak with usually more die hard fans. And be able to get whatever you want when ever you want, not having to ride the EL spooning with other people. Its ok with me, thats all. I like it both ways for different reasons.
