Are you biased?

Click on "Demonstration" for some simple word/picture association tests in Flash. I took the race one and it told me I have a strong automatic preference for whites over blacks. I think the order of the categories had something to do with it but give it a try.

slight preference for whites

SO RACIST

That test sucks. You get used to going one way and then they switch them around.

It'd be like switching the keys on a keyboard. Who's not going to go slower?

My results were same as DK's.

How many times will our liberal posters have to repeat this test so it doesn't indicate any preference for one race? :D

Yeah the order is randomized for different people to get accurate data on the aggregate. Still, I don't totally blame the order for my speed difference.

I don't know. For me I noticed it was easier when white and good were together. I think thats the whole point of the thing. Your able to score faster depending on what you associate things as.

Thats my guess though and don't ask me why I got the results cause I am definately not a racist, but my guess is this is the typical association most white people make.

But my results showed: Your data suggest a moderate automatic preference for White compared to Black.

"Your data suggest little to no automatic preference between African American and White American."

You people need tolerance lessons from me. :usa

I'm such a bad person; :bang

A course im not white or black so I call this test biased! :P

In all honesty I believe that every single human is subject to some prejudice. What seperates us is how we confront it and how we use it. I know I have some prejudism towards certain races and groups, but I will never let it get in my way towards an individual. I'm not a "bigot", but I do feel better around certain races than I do around others, and I believe every single person is the same way.

I hate my fellow whities.

I'm racist against racists.

so you're a sexist?

I assume this inventory has been validated through studies. Otherwise, its value is nil.

It's no big shock that a white person that spends 99% of his week with only white people will some how prefer white people over black.

A round of applause to Harvard University for discovering this :headshake ...

you associate with what you know the best

to answer the question...

I am very biased towards having sex.

It says I slightly prefer whites over blacks too.

If you'll notice, they also give you the general results of the test you are about to take. If they know that already, why bother doing the test. It also biases the test taker.

I took the test between FDR and Bush, my results were inconclusive. I guess that could be accurate, I'm a conservative, but who really doesn't like FDR these days besides Ann Coulter? I think they could've come up with a better test.

I still think it's interesting for the fact that most of us like to think we aren't racist or bigoted and probably are not. Yet when performing this test, there is something that slows down our minds perhaps subconsciously.

gee...it said i prefered brunettes over blonds....imagine that!!!!!!!!
