February 16, 200620 yr QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 03:03 PM) Awesome. There's nothing better than being at the CELL when it is sold out.
February 16, 200620 yr Author QUOTE(Elcaballo45 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 03:01 PM) Which holiday is that? Ah, my bad. Got my months mixed up. Mothers Day is May 10th, but I doubt that has anything to do with it. I guess people just love fireworks. Tickets are open to the general public tomorrow. I'm guessing that we'll see a few more odd dates sold out.
February 16, 200620 yr QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 03:04 PM) Man, I can't wait to shove that crowd in John Kruk's face. I think it might fit.
February 16, 200620 yr We know the Yankees, Astros, and Cardinals are going to sell out quick to. It is very possible that we will surpass the entire 2005 attendence before a single pitch is thrown... at spring training. Wow.
February 16, 200620 yr QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 03:11 PM) We know the Yankees, Astros, and Cardinals are going to sell out quick to. It is very possible that we will surpass the entire 2005 attendence before a single pitch is thrown... at spring training. Wow. Since we probably only have 200 or 300k (approximately, if we are a bit over 2 mil now) to go, I'd say that is likely. Edited February 16, 200620 yr by NorthSideSox72
February 16, 200620 yr QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 08:11 PM) We know the Yankees, Astros, and Cardinals are going to sell out quick to. It is very possible that we will surpass the entire 2005 attendence before a single pitch is thrown... at spring training. Wow. Heck with that - I'm hoping the entire season is sold out before opening day!!!!! Would be awesome to outdraw that team in Blue on the Northside.
February 16, 200620 yr QUOTE(J-MAN @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 03:23 PM) Heck with that - I'm hoping the entire season is sold out before opening day!!!!! Would be awesome to outdraw that team in Blue on the Northside. I'll point out something again that people may not be aware of. With the added 2100 beacher seats at Wrigley, believe it or not, the Cubs will open 2006 with more capacity at their park (by a few hundred) than the Sox have at the Cell. Weird, huh? So even if the Sox sell out every game, the Cubs will need to underperform on their typical 98% capacity rate for the season for that to happen. Will it? Maybe. If they have a lousy season, its possible.
February 16, 200620 yr Author I'm no expert on this, but would cracking 3 million be a realistic possibility?
February 16, 200620 yr QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) I'm no expert on this, but would cracking 3 million be a realistic possibility? 37K for every game... not to realistic.
February 16, 200620 yr QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 03:27 PM) I'm no expert on this, but would cracking 3 million be a realistic possibility? Park capacity: 40,615 Max for 81 games if all 100% sell out: 3,289,815 Avg attendence for 3 mil: 37037 Capacity at 3 mil pace: 91.2%
February 16, 200620 yr QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 02:29 PM) Park capacity: 40,615 Max for 81 games if all 100% sell out: 3,289,815 Avg attendence for 3 mil: 37037 Capacity at 3 mil pace: 91.2% That would be something wouldn't it..
February 16, 200620 yr QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) Damn bandwagon jumpers... :headshake It's the price we pay for success. I liked having the run of the park, but I think we all knew that was over when the Sox did what they did in October. This is what people get for all those "get your ass out to the park" threads I saw the past couple years.....
