Cuba advanced to the WBC semifinals in San Diego...

How many players will they lose to defection?

Good, now Vazquez and Cintron can make thier way to Tucson.

:cheers

IIRC Baez is the only one that ever defected at a game in the US, and Contreras is the only other one to defect at an exhibition or tournament.

That said, I wouldn't mind getting a shot at Yulieski Gouriel. He'd look good in a Sox jersey.

His father and uncle (I believe) were also on the Cuban Nation Team. They're treated like kings in Cuba. He doesn't quite have the incentive to defect that some of the others have.

All the ones who aren't completely brainwashed by Fidel. So 1, maybe 2.

they are prob going to have extensive security and everything to make sure none of them try to run away. Also wouldnt it of been more to their advantage if they defected in one of the countries outside of the US.

I've heard he is one of the less likely ones to defect, but a guy can dream.

vazquez + cintron will come to spring training, right?

Is that about 10 million dollars worth of money signs? Because that guy is worth that, at a minimum.

Yeah. When Contreras snuck out of Cuba when the national team was in Mexico, he defectd to Nicaruga to increase his bargining power.

all of them. Except for the catcher, he'll go back.
