May 30, 200322 yr People have trashed the design of the new Soilder Field, but with these updated photos, it doesn't look too bad..does it? http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...Dhome%2Dutility I am torn. The improvements look great. We finally have a state of the art football stadium. But it looks like s*** to have that sitting on a historical design.
May 30, 200322 yr I'm also torn. The old collumns used to be so imposing, but now they're dwarfed. Looks strange.
May 30, 200322 yr Basically I'm with you guys. They failed in getting it to look good with the old column, without the columns it would look pretty sweet.
May 30, 200322 yr from the outside it looks like a flying saucer, still. But I'm highly encouraged by the interior! We're right on top the team!!!
May 30, 200322 yr I think it looks like a piece of s***. But as long as da Bears play there I won't mind.
May 31, 200322 yr I am not torn, I am pissed that ILLINOIS taxpayers helped finance stadium and f***ing MCcaskeys get richer , I hate that group. As a taxpayer what is my benefit.......NADA. :fyou MCcaskeys :finger
June 2, 200322 yr From the outside it looks like someone dropped a toilet into Soldier Field. They should have used the columns to support a walkway from the parking lot to the new stadium. Maybe have a Bears Hall Of Fame along the walkway. Anything other than trying to incorporate old into new - it just didn't work. Aesthetically awful. The inside seems pretty nice. Wonder how bad the wind is gonna swirl in that place?
June 3, 200322 yr So what the hell? They just built an all new stadium inside the original walls? That sucks
June 3, 200322 yr So what the hell? They just built an all new stadium inside the original walls? That sucks Exactly. The outside clashes so badly. But the pictures and write ups of the interior sounds great. I just want to know what Chicago gets the worst stadiums in pro sports. Wrigley is a urinal, Comiskey although better now, is so plain it is sad, the style of soldier field looks awful, and the United Center is just the indoor version of Comiskey... plain unaestetic, and a lot of seats way far away from the action. For a good hoops arena go to Conseco in Indy.
