Scary.

matched his walk total too.

concerned about Jenks?

Yes, I am.

especially without Hermie (or Shingo) around.

fastest gun reading I saw was 94.

Jenks just needs to start throwing hard.

Even scarier. What does Jenks have now -- 9 BB's and 2 K's in 8.0 IP?

I'm not too worried about his velocity. I'm worried about how he's walking half the guys he's facing.

He said it doesn't get up there to his normal until the very end of march/beginning of april. He said that in late February.

He looks uncomfortable on the mound. Just not very smooth.

I hope our offense is going to be okay this year. It was so bad in spring training early and it had me worried that it wasn't going to be good this year.  :bang

The Rockies' pitchers retired 14 Sox hitters in a row after you posted this. :chair

Pablo's gonna go deep to send this one to extras... ;)

Greasy face is a stud. He will get on base anyway possible, other than hitting the ball out of the infield of course.

I saw Jenks last Saturday on WGN and he looked pretty decent against the Cubs, but not over powering either.

i guess I worry about guys who look like they slept at the All You Can Eat line all winter.

I am in Tucson and was at the game behind home with the scouts. The radar the scouts were using had Jenks at 91 most of the time. He hit 92 once or twice, and 93 on the 2 run double. Real games are a week and a half away, I think Jenks may find he is not the closer if improvement isn't immenent. I don't think it means anything, but all of the scout's interest picked up when Politte took the mound. He hit 92 a couple of times. I don't know what the gun on television was showing, but Buerhle looked good, and he never got higher than 84.

On TV...

Cliff was consistent 91-92

Buehrle was consistent 86

Jenks was 93-94 most of the time.
