As for there being no Sox combos in there I can kind of see it but the staff is so much better as 5 guys than just 2 of them. How many teams can say that they have 6 quality starters? Mark Prior must be holding his heart (with his left arm, of course) and smiling. Â At the end of the day, it'll be our Staff with something to really smile about. Im once again glad i dont have a subscription. and i've always thought it was lame that they try to reel dudes in with the swimsuit issue. i can find every one of those models nude with a google search with the safesearch feature off. give me a frickin break. I think Colon/Lackey could round out the list for sure (Colon is pretty damn good). I could maybe buy a Halladay/Burnett if both were healthy, cause each have a lot of potential and well Halladay has been one of the better pitchers over the past few years. Buehrle and Contreras should be pretty high, and IMO Garcia and Garland could beat some of those pairings. Â I won't argue Oswalt and Pettitte or Harden and Zito. Honestly, I won't argue Schilling and Beckett either because both are pretty talented (although there's no way they're #1, they gotta be lower). Hudson and Smoltz are okay. Halladay is a Cy Young type pitcher, but what the hell has Burnett ever done to merit any praise? Even when he ain't hurt, the guy is a career sub-.500 pitcher, and he pitched on some pretty decent Marlins teams. He's basically the slightly less injured version of Kerry Wood.  If he was on the Sox, he'd be the number 7 starter. At least in my book. McCarthy hasn't proved much, but at least he can stay healthy. And the other 5, I don't think its much question.
