New Skin Available

Featured Replies

I've designed a new skin that is much like the old silverish grey. Go down to the pulldown menu at the bottom of the page where the 2.1 skin is selected and choose HeadsCustom to see what it's like.

Also, please post any bugs/problems here. I have to go fill a car with gas then I'll be back.

Good to see your lazy ass is still good for something.

Very nice Heads :)

Soild Heads. I guess the one thing I would say is that with the default skin, I like how topics are sort of "boxed in" with the lines, where as this skin doesnt really have that. Does that make sense?

Can you give me a screen shot of what you're referring to? The CSS stuff that's used is interchangable but a lot of the stuff is used for different things.

When using skin 2.1, look on the main page for Pale Hose. All the topics are on the page, but there is thin white line separating them all. With the new skin, the line is gone or is just mixed in with the new white.

Sorry, its kinda hard to explain that little detail...

I know exactly what you mean Tony. I'm trying to show him.

In the blue version, white lines seperate stuff such as the forum topics like a grid. But the new version is white where the light blue would be so there are no more lines seperating it. I think that's what he means.

How's that?

I liked the other way more, but I'm probably the minority. Whatever, doesn't make that much of a difference.

Well, Greasy thinks it needs more black, so he can design his own. :P

The deal was that we could have brought the old Silverish Grey in, and it's actually there, but invisible to everyone but the admins. The thing is, though, that you can't use the options menu (the spiffy flash one) and the CSS setup is different, so I had to go thru and recode a lot of crap to make one similar. Now, Greasy is gonna make one of his own which will be an option too. That will prob take a while.

And so ya guys know, we're gonna try and have a handful of skins to use, but as of right now, I thought the Silverish like one was more important. Both Gage and Greasy are working on skins of their own. It's kind of a slow process.

But, I gotta head out and cover a tennis meet tonight for the paper, so I can't tinker til later.

Chances are when I get back tonight, too, I might flip the gray and the white to have borders. I don't like how it looks like this, but I don't have time right now.

i like it, looks really clean... only complaint is that its a little static

Umm...this stuff is foreign, and don't expect a skin from me.

One problem I see is that when I do an add reply or a new topic the size of the screen makes it to where I need to scroll horizontally where on the other skins I don't have to.

Anyone notice that?

Looks good Alex. For those wanting a bit more black, the one I've been in development will have a bit more of that. So we should have a nice gray version and a solid black version (i say solid cause I lack creativity, but when I finish finals I'll get it done; my version is about 70% done).

Can anyone tell me how to design a skin? And where's the Die banner gone?

I suspect the Dye banner disappeared because it worked so damn well last night. JD had a huge game while being featured as the Soxtalk banner.

Tonight Vazquez is on the mound, and the Powers That Be have decided to give him a little extra mojo.

The banners are different depending on which skin you are using.

For the Default skin, which is the blue, it's Dye.

For the one Heads just rolled out, it's Vazquez.

Nah, Alex was just too lazy to use the new banner on his new skin. I'll go change it cause the Dye banner is absolutely beautiful.

I'm blaming you if the Sox lose.

For some reason that made me think of those lame ass survival commercials.

"I can't take that ride"

Anyway Dye header is now up on both of them and it looks awesome on this gray skin.

Cool, I don't like the original anymore.

Now just waiting for the search function. :D

Where is the default pink skin?
