While manager Dusty Baker and most Cubs players interviewed had no problem with A.J. Pierzynski's collision with Michael Barrett, rookie left-hander Rich Hill called it "gutless" and "pathetic."

 

"I think it was pretty gutless on their part—him hitting Michael when he didn't even have the ball," Hill said. "That's not how you play the game. If he had the ball and he hits him, that's fine, that's how you play it. But you don't go around just running over catchers. What if he injured him and he didn't have the ball? That's not the way you play the game. … It was pathetic."

 

Sox manager Ozzie Guillen was livid when he heard Hill's comment.

 

"Tell that Triple-A [bleep] to shut the [bleep] up," Guillen said. "Tell him to start throwing some strikes or he's going to get Dusty fired."

Great quote by Ozzie. I bash him a lot of the time, but it's refreshing to hear him say what everyone else is thinking. Rich Hill was f***ing terrible in that 2nd inning. He has absolutely no right to make a comment like that.

I really don't know what to say to this. This is one of the stupidest things I've ever read by someone posting about Cub fans.

 

I think I'd better become more scarce during these Sox/Cubs series.. things are just getting too ridiculous.

 

Your normally a very good poster, so I'll just assume based on your location you aren't from here and don't understand the rivalry all out, and pretend I didn't see this post. Is the rivalry this petty and bitter? Always has been, always will be. We may have bragging rights for eternity, but the anger never dies.
