May 26, 200619 yr Must have heard a thousand times this week how the Sox 3-4-5 are the best in baseball. Being of an enquiring mind I checked it out and for once, the hype is true. This chart looks at the top 3 HR and RBI men by team (I don't have batting order in it).

And those numbers indicate that there isn't much competition...
May 26, 200619 yr QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 25, 2006 -> 08:16 PM) I find it incredibly hard to believe that the Royals are last. Well, they are.
May 26, 200619 yr QUOTE(That funky motion @ May 25, 2006 -> 08:30 PM) Nice job! Toronto 3rd! Let hope they fall a couple places this weekend. Except for when they play the Sox, I am pulling for Toronto all the way. It would be great if neither NY or BOS made the playoffs.

May 26, 200619 yr Wow, even with the major improvements in offense this year it still shocks me to see us doing so good since we were so horrid last year. Bad ass.
May 26, 200619 yr I think you should add OBP and SLG. Those are the two most important statistics. If you don't, I might get around to it. I know all of them have SLG over like .550 and OBP of .391+, which is absolutely insane.

Very nice, but did you just average the top 3? Or actually calculate them with each of their ABs and PAs. Thats what i was going to do later this weekend.

Not happening...as crappy as the Yankees have been so far, they're still better than Toronto. Also, Boston has been w/o Coco Crisp and will improve.
May 26, 200619 yr I had a feeling our 3-4-5 stacked up well. It doesn't even end there: I bet our 3-4-5-6 and our 3-4-5-6-7 rankings ain't too shabby either. SFF

SFF Pods has been steadily raising his BA, and Gooch is right around(if not above) .300, 1-7 the Sox are absolutely dangerous. Can you imagine what this team will look like if BA and Uribe can start hitting their weight?

Can you imagine what this team will look like if BA and Uribe can start hitting their weight? Truely, I really can't imagine what it would be like. I don't think I've seen a team this stacked that I've really ever watched. If/when Uribe and BA atleast get up passed the Mendoza line, this team will be even more dangerous.
May 27, 200619 yr If there's anything I've learned from this forum it's that players playing above their career averages will fall back to them 100% of the time (at least if they're a tiger). In other words, I'd enjoy you're 3-4-5 hitting now before it's too late.

May 27, 200619 yr QUOTE(3E8 @ May 27, 2006 -> 01:40 PM) Pujols himself is beating the Royals, and could pass the Cubs any day now. HA! Isn't that something . . .
May 27, 200619 yr In case no one else has noticed Dye has been slumping as much as Crede, if not more. He is hitting .224 in May and .105 in his last 7 days. Source: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/splits?playerId=3449
