Why would anyone, meaning from the team, bother? He's had only two bad starts all year.

Last start he was tatooed, and he's getting hit tonight as the league adjusts to his adjustment. The way guys run at will against him, Freddy isn't the kind of pitcher who will be effective in the long run giving up a lot of hits. Guys just don't drop that much velocity unless they A. stopped using steroids. B. Perhaps aren't under the influence of greenies C. Have some sort of injury or D. Father time has caught up to him. He's obviously won using this style so far, but I don't think it can last. He needs his fastball.

Now that this game is over, does anyone know the pitching match-ups for the weekend series against Texas?

In Jakes last 3 starts.

Against Detroit 5.1 innings 7 hits 7 runs

He shut down the Royals and their mighty O over 9 innings

but before that they rocked him for 8 runs in 5.2 innings.

So oddly people are hitting him, just not us tonight.

For the last week, we've looked like the 2004 team.

some good news:

Yankees 1, Tigers 0

Just got home...not good...

Go Yankees!

Some bad news: possible rain delay there.

Hopefully it wont cancel the game, but I have no idea.

He had a 2.30 ERA at home coming into tonight. He just sucks on the road.

That doesn't excuse us of course. We suck tonight, but that was obvious. Just like last night.

Not having seen the first 5 and a half...Bad execution or just not hitting?

i havent watched one inning. i see we havent scored a run. so whats up?: poor execution, no hits, stranded runners, great pitching by westbrook or what?

More just not hitting, with a small lack of execution mixed in.

To the 7th.

LETS GO SOX. Turn this thing around right now.

Garcia's got 99 pitches and he's gettin' no help

Another quality start for Freddy (so far), which is nice to see coming off of the Toronto game.

Ideal pitcher for the 7th and 8th innings? Brandon McCarthy.
