Cora has made some very stupid calls at 3rd but for the most part they have worked out. I did not hear any one complaining last night when Crede scored the winning run.

He scored because Gomez made an error (yes, it wasn't called an error). If you're going to have to rely on the defense making an error in order for the run to score, you're going to be in trouble

I think a lot of people complained, because it was a terrible decision. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he sent him in retrospect, but he was out by a mile if their LF didn't just f*** up.

17 HRs allowed in 70 innings is....well special... after allowing 26 in 200+ innings last year..

He is pretty bad out there IMO.

They score a bunch more than they don't. How is that bad?

With 2 outs I can see the rationale behind sending him, you force them to make a play. I dont agree with the decision, but I can understand COra sending JD there

There was no play to force. He could have lobbed one home and still got him out.

Both pitchers have thrown 52 pitches through 3. Why do I feel like Rogers is suddenly settling in?

Crap, is Crede hurt?

QUOTE(rudylaw @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 06:01 PM)
I am not defending Cora for being retarded, I am just saying for some reason it seems to have worked out more often for not for him. I bet if he gets 5 or 6 people thrown out at home in a few game stretch he will be unemployed.

Hahahaha, yeah right.

Because we had him on the ropes and gave him the confidence he needed by running ourselves out of a big inning.

LOL. The ball always finds you.

Crede injurs his back.

Crede has a lower back injury. Lets hope it's not like last year's lingering injury. The last thing we need is another lesser bat at the bottom of the order.

Is he out of the game?

LOL. Coco dropping some hard core f-bombs.

I'm already tired of hearing about the play after several innings. If the decision alone decides the game we obviously had troubles scoring runs and holding Detroit.

I'd be more upset if it were later in the game, or only 1 out. Not worth discussing.

Yes

I hope Crede's injury isn't serious. We can't afford to have him down for long.

Getting back to Cora, it is great when he steals runs, but this isn't Little League; you can't count on guys to screw up all the time. That decision in the first was just not a smart baseball decision. I hope it is a non-issue as the game goes on.

Now, how about Garland getting some groundballs and not long, long fly outs.

Uribe as SS. Alex moves to 3rd.

Yes

Pablo in @ 3rd?

Jon looks great today. Only the stupid walk and the bad pitch up to Inge were his only mistakes. Nice to see.

You never know though what happens if he holds the runner. Crede getting a hit to leadoff the next inning only makes it seem like a worse decision. In the past, we got to Rogers early (Frank usually crushed him). However, Rogers would settle down as the game went on.

Great swing by Uribe, great catch by Granderson.

Damn what a nice play.

uuggghh i hate curtis granderson.

So that's what a good offensive and defensive CFer looks like.

Damn, I thought only BA could make that play.
