Pods now at .251 and only outhitting Uribe and Anderson.....both those 2 are hitting better than him right now though...

Pods only has 5 fewer RBI than he did all of last season when a few people around here thought he warranted MVP consideration. Last year he may have been the most overrated player in the history of baseball.

I've been at most of Garland's home starts this year, and saw him in person in Tucson at the end of spring training. Its one of the few times there wasn't rocket after rocket hit off him. I think it was the best he's pitched by far this season.

I really liked the fact that he wasn't trying to strike guys out, rather he was throwing in the upper 80's, which enables his ball to get a lot more sink to it. If he does that while mixing in the ocassional 2seamer in on the hands of batters (which Jon usually throws a little harder) mixed with his change and breaking ball and I think we'll see him turn things around.

He didn't pitch inside at all to Texiera (I assume we have him scouted that way though) but he was throwing the ball in at least a decent number of times to the guys). And like you said, not many hard hit balls today and thats against a very good Texas team in the heat.

Hmph.

Thome with the grounder.

He really helped this team out with his steals, especially at the beginning of the year when our hitting sucked but the pitching was great. He was just pathetic in the 2nd half of the season though. I'll definitely give him credit for playing great in the postseason though.

As far as I'm concerned, aside from today, these should be his last two starts (in Texas) for a bit, because I would have Konerko in at 1b throughout interleague play (when we are the visiting team). However, my guess is Thome will get 1 start and I'm sure he'll PH in every game.

Hey Kap.

Wanna haunt Interstate 495 for all eternity?

Hopefully Brandon can give us a full inning here.

From what I can gather, he's going to start on Sunday against the Reds and Arroyo.

I'm just sayin Kap...if you live to drive...

I know that place is a bandbox, but everytime I see a game in Texas, it seems like you would have to hit one 600 ft. to hit it out of there.

McCarthy's suckering them into the 2-0 pitch, and they're swinging for the fences.

Makes sense. Might as well play him against a RHP.

Except when McCarthy made his first start there last season, and every flyball was gone. Left field at Cleveland has that type of feeling for me.

is hawk making a "more head" joke?

The ball LAUNCHES here. It's unreal.

neal, bmac :headbang

Good inning for McCarthy, who really didn't have anything that inning.

Nice inning for BMac :)

If McCarthy could become consistant in the bullpen, maybe if he consistantly pitched, it would be huge for this team.

The Rangers station has a whole lot of public announcements for commercials (between the one with the hockey player telling his daughter he loves her, the one with the young girl talking about older boys, and then this past one).
