White Sox Up For Best Team ESPY

Featured Replies

Just saw this on ESPN, the Sox are up for "Best Team" in the ESPY's.

Vote for them over the Steelers, Heat, and UTexas Longhorns football.

Ozzie Guillen also up for Best Coach.

There really is no reason that they shouldn't be up for it. When I saw earlier that they were announcing the nominees today, I thought of how funny it would be around here if they didn't get nominated.

Well the Sox are the only deserving team, so hopefully they win it.

Never a big fan of the ESPY's. Sox deserve the make believe award though.

who watches the ESPYs?

i'm serious.

Never really watch, but I like to see who wins....

The Steelers will probably win, but the Sox truly played like a team (Than again so did the Steelers).

Yeah, they played like a team with the referres on their side. I'm not a Hawks fan though.

I going to put the Red Sox down as a write-in.

Pittsburgh in the east, they win

I would love if Ozzie won and he said thank you espn...Mariotti is a f** on his acceptance speech

Are the results based solely on the fans vote? If so we're probably screwed going up against the Steelers. How can a team that goes wire-to-wire 162 games in first place and 11-1 in the postseason not the best team in a season? GMAB the Steelers don't deserve it over us. They were a wild card 6 seed. Yes, they won the Super Bowl, but great teams usually have great seasons and postseasons, ie White Sox.

I'd bet a huge texan vote carries the UT longhorns.

Sox should win it though...

BTW, the espy award is the most useless award in sports. In all its time, the Espys have produced only one memorable moment; and that was for the lifetime achievement award to Bob Valvano who basically came from his deathbed to speak at the event.

That was Jim Valvano.

And there you have the two varying degrees of best team.

The Sox should win either way you look at it.

The 5th team ever to go wire-to-wire in 100+ years of Major League Baseball? That's a pretty damn good team.

Everyone playing a large part in the team's success? That's a pretty damn good team.

But they couldn't hit.

For coach of the year, I voted Jim Larranaga from George Mason. What he did with that team was just too awesome. Sox are the best team though.

i just don't care at all about this nothing award

A-Row got himself two nominations with his catch.

I've never watched a single minute of the ESPYs and I don't plan on starting now. What a waste of time.

I hope the Sox win, though.
