Yeah, but when we've tried not being patient, and swinging at either the first or second pitch, Santana will make it to the 9th inning and give up 1 run.

Uribe went out and got that first pitch fastball. It will be interesting if we change our approach as the game goes on. Time for an Alomar flare.

See if Sandy can stay off the dl for this ab.

STANDING O FOR ALOMAR

Uribe goes oppo. This is what our right handers should be doing against Johan.

Lets see if old man Alomar can put a good hit together.

Tigers remind me of the Sox last season... no lead is safe...

Not quite. We don't beat the bad teams as well as they did, but we were much better going up against the good teams.

Personally, I think we'll be rooting for the Tigers a lot in the 2nd half.

When does Uribe not try and go out to get the first pitch fastball?

Good bat speed Sandy.

Crede looking like poo on a stick at the plate lately.

Nice fishing swing Joe. Just put the bat back in the rack and come up with a better game plan than that. Try hitting it to right instead of pulling everything.

We've been seeing that a lot haven't we. They never just go with the pitch to right. Overswing on everything when they have a tough one on the mound.

I love the catching upgrade we made.

Welcome to the whitesox Sandy you will fit in with our offense with that approach.

We beat up on plenty of bad teams last year. And if you're talking about this year, we've had our butts whooped by good teams.

Our pitching staff also RARELY got us in a big hole last year. There were very few games where we were down by more than 4 or 5 runs.

Alomar is about as bad as widger

Going to right isn't always the option. The most disturbing thing about the offense the last few weeks is the lack of hard hit balls by our offense.

I'll tell you if Detroit can come right back from a 7 run first inning deficit, they deserve this division more than we do....damn that's fighting......

This Sox team came back from some large deficits in the first half as well.

We didn't beat them at the rate that Detroit is this year. Of course we beat them, we had 99 wins. Detroit is awful against good teams this year, and we were pretty good for most of the year.

I like going to right with pitchers like Johan who have a great change. If you think right you still have a shot at putting the change in play. If you look for the pull, if you make contact with the change you will foul it off.

Its not for every single type of pitcher. Its for soft tossing lefties, soft tossing righties who are going away only, and for Johan with the plus change.

Ever since Mr count has come back from the DL, he is pretty much sidearm only. What happened to going over the top. He is leaving a lot of his fastballs up and over the plate.

When you face Santana, sitting on his change isn't the best option. It's so good, you can look for it, and still not hit it. Also, he doesn't throw his changeup on the outside corner as much as a lot of other lefties. I think the best way to hit Santana is swing hard in case you hit it.

wow 2 strikes not called in that ab
