August 9, 200619 yr I thought that the Sox talked with him, and he decided he would go back on the DL. And then probably come up in September.
August 9, 200619 yr He is done. Hopefully he bought himself a resort property and will stay there for the next few years.
August 9, 200619 yr QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 04:45 PM) I wasn't sure....you think they'd just leave him, I dunno... They can't without having him pass through waivers, which he likely wouldn't do.
August 9, 200619 yr I thought I read that he opted to go back to Arizona and continue working out and that possibly he would come on board when rosters expand. The trouble is that he's not able to go more than an inning, at least that's what I read.
August 9, 200619 yr QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 01:49 PM) They can't without having him pass through waivers, which he likely wouldn't do. They were going to place him on the DL and than have him up in September.
August 9, 200619 yr QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 04:59 PM) They were going to place him on the DL and than have him up in September. Yea, I know. I was saying that they can't just leave him in AAA because his rehab assignment was as long as it could go.
August 9, 200619 yr He's hanging on the DL until September; although I can't see him ever coming back. Too bad. Hermy was a badass last year, first half.
August 9, 200619 yr Gonna miss the guy. Remember his streak to start the season? 19 IP without a run or something? Wicked!
August 9, 200619 yr QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 04:12 PM) Gonna miss the guy. Remember his streak to start the season? 19 IP without a run or something? Wicked! 21 IP, 11 Saves. 0 ER for 2 whole months.
August 9, 200619 yr QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 04:34 PM) 21 IP, 11 Saves. 0 ER for 2 whole months. Did he have a hidden no hitter in there? Maybe a hidden perfect game?
August 10, 200619 yr he'd clear waivers in all likelihood. Teams know he is hurt and plus he makes a little bit of money. Not a ton but probably enough to dissuade them from the flyer
August 10, 200619 yr QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 12:56 AM) he'd clear waivers in all likelihood. Teams know he is hurt and plus he makes a little bit of money. Not a ton but probably enough to dissuade them from the flyer He doesn't have to clear waivers if he was put back on the DL (which is the case) Edited August 10, 200619 yr by Felix
