CHRIS RONGEY IS THE NEW HAWK HARRELSON

The way we are playing, it looks like we wont make it. Im looking forward to seeing Sweeney, Owens, Fields, Stewart and see what they can do.

well I am guess I am glad now that Comcast shut my box off so i can't watch my extra innings til saturday.....sounds like a depressing game, even though we could have lost in a 6-5 game in 21 innings and it would still sound like that in a thread like this

That's why were struggling, plain and simple. Does Ozzie deserve some blame? Yes, but the starting pitching is why we arent where we were last year. The starters deserve the most blame.

One thing I noticed last night. Juan Uribe has 55 RBI's. I may be wrong, but I think I remember him breaking the 50-RBI plateau in Cincy. Has Uribe really gone about two months basically without an RBI? Or was it the 40-RBI plateau that he passed?

Another thing, this rotation is anything but inconsistent. They've held us down the entire year. It seems they always do enough to lose. The entire year, this rotation has failed to live up to its expectations. It's maddening. If we don't make the playoffs, it will be 100% on their shoulders (player-wise).

And if we lose another game in this series, and then proceed to lose the upcoming series with the Twins, this year just may be over.

What I absolutely cannot handle is the lack of passion or intensity. It's like we drag our sorry asses through every loss, and if a team goes up by two, three, four runs, they know--and we do too--that they just have to coast the rest of the game because we'll never come back.

Buehrle's had a bad year but I'm sorry: only giving up four runs--in the beginning--to the best team in baseball should not have spelled guaranteed loss for us.

So for all the talk about the starters--which is of course problem #1--our offense has been dismal in the clutch. It's different when Jose gives up seven runs, but if I have to watch one more game when we can't climb over a 2-run deficit I'm going to scream.

The only good news is we are still in it, wild-card wise, despite our crap second half. It can be salvaged. I will not give up until we are mathematically eliminated. But it's looking iffy.

BTW how weird was it to hear somebody hear yesterday mention (for the first time I've heard) Detroit's "magic number"? Man.... 2005 seems so long ago, don't it?

You know, you CAN, in fact, go to the opposite field against him. It's a f***ing joke.

Someone needs to CC this memo to: Thome, Jim

We need to break up the Kong-Thome 1-2 punch. Or just put Dye in the 3 hole. It will make the offense better.

been saying that all year. But nobody's gonna f***ing listen.
