One positive from this season is that we seem to hit Verlander better than most teams.

Yeah that really helps ease the pain.

Are we trying now? I haven't seen this since October.

Still relying too much on HRs and not manufacturing runs.

Why manufacture runs if you don't need to?

Why manufacture runs if you don't need to?

Because there are too many times where they need to and don't.

At this point, does it matter?

I want Freddy to do well...but not too well to the point that KW might think he's turned the corner for next year. Sad to say, but Garcia shows me more potential to pitch decent for next year than Buehrle does.

Agreed, he has shown flashes of his old form. Lately especially.

Good point.

Maybe it comes down to who agrees to an extension first?

Buehrle and Konerko for Pujols?

:)

For me, it comes down to who can get you a better package of players back. I wonder what a team like the Mets would give up for Buehrle? Milledge?

If they had the offensive approach that they do tonight for the whole season we wouldn't need to manufacture runs. If it were only that easy.

If Garcia can keep this up for the remainder of his starts, I like the way his trade value looks.

Jimmy Rollins just hit his 22nd HR and stole his 36th base. Crazy to think you can have speed AND power at the same time.

Up 6, put Sweeney in left, Ozzie.

How much you want to bet that Garcia finds 3 mph on his fastball during his contract year?

Haha Hawk and DJ making fun of Mariotti, good stuff.

Interesting that Hawk just said that Freddy will "probably have his fastball back next year" and that it will make him better. Perhaps he is staying?

When you think about it, holding on to Freddy until the deadline of '07 could present a king's ransom. I say this because '07 is a contract year for him which is a huge motivator, we've seen this time and time again, combine this with the fact that he admitted to turning his competetiveness on and off and he won't be stressing his arm in any postseason or WBC games. Teams are always hard up for pitching at the deadline, will pay out the ass for it and it seems more than half the league is a contendeder these days when the time comes. It's risky as hell though.

We also would not have lefty sp. Thats the only reason I would keep MB over Freddy.

Agreed, i want to see some Sweeney & Fields action, respectivly in LF and RF.
