Aardsma and Sisco are up.

I assume the plan is to get Garland through an out or two in the 6th, play situational matchups with Aards/Sisco to close out the inning, then finish with our Mac/Thorton/Jenks trio.

Please don't assume that Ozzie will follow logic. It's a gut thing man. Logic is for idiots!

Garland is at 101 pitches. Starts the 6th against Marte.

So why did we hand him a job?

because he's a world series hero, duh.

Andy Marte reminds me of Jeff Franceour at the plate.

Marte flies out to Dye.

Sisco runs like a deuche

After the long inning, I didn't think Garland should not have come back out. Nice job Jon.

Here comes Sisco.

Since I'm 6'8", I feel qualified to say that all tall people who are not basketball players run like douches.

Does he come in to the thong song??

Pods seems to have lost a lot of physical attributes from a few years ago. Mainly, any power he had, and a lot of his speed. Put him with the thousands of other players who have seen suspicious dropoffs since steroid testing went into play.

Ok, now come on, that one is just unfair. I don't call a dropoff in speed suspicious when you have injuries that result in 2 groin and back surgeries in less than 2 years. And he was really really good in the first half of 05, over 20 steals in a row going into the AS break.

Or he was never really that good in the first place, had a real lucky (fluke) year, and has been (more or less) living off of it for his career...

Regardless of what happens the rest of this game, I'll be quite happy about Garland finishing this game strongly.

I like this alot better, get Jon out of there. Last year Oz was too easy on pitchers, the short leash is much better.

im almost in shock that ozzie did the logical thing here

Hopefully he doesn't pitch as bad as you spell :P

Yes, and use an absurdly long bat with lots of back torque while you are at it.

Sisco in.

Garland 5.1 IP, 7H, 5R (all earned), 4 walks, 5 Ks, 8.44 ERA.

Leaves with the lead.

Sisco locating? WTH

ooopss....

Nah, he actually was pretty quick a few injuries and operations ago...

2 runs in for the Angels, 2 on, no outs. BMAC in trouble.

I just love Jeff Francouer he's either going to be a hall of famer or out of baseball in 5 years.

FYI - McCarthy looking awful in the 1st.

Sizemore = best non 1B/DH in baseball.

So some things haven't changed, Garland gives up 5 runs and is still in position for the Win.
