that was pretty much on ozzie for some reason bringing in logan.

aardsma's era jumps 2 full points. rofl.

To pitch to Jones. They countered by PHing Lee. You can't take Logan out again without throwing a pitch. Sheesh!

Is anyone surprised by that? Must be nice to have one of the best hitters in the game on your bench to put the nail in our coffin.

I guess I was "rooting" for the walk and only one more run scoring.

QUOTE(Allsox @ May 19, 2007 -> 05:30 PM)
Meh, not Aardsma's fault. AJ set up away, Aardsma hit the spot and the Cubs hit it down the wide lines at Wrigley. Tip of the cap to the Cub hitters for knowing how to hit in their ballpark. If AJ set up inside and he threw it outside, OK, go ahead and b****. But don't blame Aardsma, blame the bad set-up behind home plate.

BTW, if the Cubs win this game, there's another one to play tomorrow. This isn't the World Series so stop taking it so hard that we lose to the Cubs. Who the hell are the Cubs and their fans to get so agitated about? I hate seeing the Sox lose series but they're going to in a 162 game schedule.

well, it feels like the world series. this is the cubs. this is the reason interleague was set up. rivalry. we just got embarrassed in two straight against our rivals from the north.

go ahead, tell me our biggest rival is the twins, or the indians, or the tigers.

but no matter what, this is a huge series.

Maybe no people will realize there are problems with this team. It sucks. The better team won. They humiliated us.

The Cubs are a damn good team....no doubt in my mind they'll win the NL Central.

look at every good team over the last 5 years and they had good bullpens. we knew that was a major problem in the offseason and K Will did nothing to adress it except give up on Cotts who had two bad months in 3 years.

Aardsma looked like he wanted to cry.

....hray....strike 3....

i turned off the tube, im sure i wont be missing anything.

Brewers

Hey, we only need 5 runs

altering my prediction by one run: 12-11 Sox.

Theres nothing better than going down 3-1 with the bases loaded coming out of the bullpen. Like I said before our bullpen blows besides Jenks and we need an OF that can actually move out there instead of watching guys get extra base hits.

On paper, KW did improve the bullpen. That is all he can do in the off season.

he didnt do nothing,

he acquired aardsma, our best reliever, he acquried sisco, who has been at best much much better than politte. he got us thorton and macdougal last year. and he got us masset, who i guess pretty much sucks.

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ May 19, 2007 -> 06:29 PM)
GOD DAMN MACDOUGAL!!!

:lookatme

I am so sad.

does this mean we should fire both Walker AND Cooper now?

I don't give a s*** who our rivals are. As long as were winning games is all I care about. This team blows.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 19, 2007 -> 03:31 PM)
Jenks and Thornton have started to get their velocity back up to above average...that's all we were asking for. I don't think anyone is complaining about Aardsma being in the game. Bringing in Logan was stupid, but Ozzie's never cared in the 8th inning once we're trailing. This relief core sucks....it's dumb enough to base it all on velocity, but when you combine that with their loss of velocity, it's a joke. KW failed this team so bad in the offseason....thank god Danks is good.

You mean they were able to actually make strides and get better. Geeze, based on what I've seen people are juts worthlwess when done and Jenks was still getting guys out with lower velocities (doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize Jenks is still one of the best closers in the game, even if he's throwing 93-95).

And I'm glad people are writing off the relief core, it wasn't that long ago that people were raving about it. I remember all along saying this core will lose some hair but at the same time it will grow and improve (its going to have ugly stretches) but come season end it will be one of the best in the biz. And anyone expecting a young pen to consistently dominant all season was ludicrous.

This is not on Kenny, he should make an adjustment to try to fire up the offense, but this isn't on him. I'm glad he did things because his off-season was a very good one in which the team got younger, the farm system got stronger, and our pitching got back to the way it should be.

HA, Gas Can in line for the "vulture victory".

Give up the lead, then get the win.

Bhahaa, they aren't even close to being as good as the Brewers.
