They've had a fair offensive series. Don't know how much of that has to do with bad pitching and bad defense on the Cubs' part. But who thinks they've turned the corner?

Curious what the masses think.

Is the offense awake? I think it's possible.

Is the bullpen dead? I think it's possible.

1 problem starts to improve, another shows up. Argh.

I think the offense is getting out of the month long funk that it's been in, but I think it will eventually be an offense that puts up 10 runs one day, but then won't score that much combined for the next 3 or 4 games. It's basically a HR or nothing offense that will have it's great days, but often will struggle.

With the return of Thome, I think the offense is on the verge of breaking out.

Definitely should help.

i voted for some players, others not. aj is 2-5 with 4 rbis, dye is continuing to be hot with a 1-3 day with another homer, uribe is 1-3, and paulie is 1-3. with 16 runs in 2 games, i definitley think its possible. i just hope our bullpen can figure it out soon

damn, a ran delay. so if it gets called, is it a white sox winner? somebody help me with this one, im confused with this new rule

I think it's a White Sox winner.

It isn't just this series, but some of the guys approaches have been looking better for a while now... Sometimes it takes a little while for the results to follow, but really guys like JD and Pauly have had much better ABs for a while now.

I think the big guys have definitely been showing signs of coming alive the past several days. I think I have that in another thread. Getting Thome back in the line-up will be great. I love that he walked today. Usually when he walks, he also hits.

Adding Thome allows to move AJ down to the 6th or 7th spot in the order, and that helps the balance of this team. AJ has been hitting very well lately.

I realize that's probably going to end up being our lineup, but with him hitting so well, I'd be thinking, in the short-term while he is swing a hot bat, of going Thome 3, Dye 4, AJ 5, and Konerko 6, which would give the White Sox the lefty-righty combo.

sorry to see crede go down because he was scorching the ball.

Thome helps a ton, but no. We need JD and Pauly back to driving the ball in the gaps before the offense is repaired.

While we're at it. Let's call up Fields. He can get on base (or not make outs, however you want to put it) at a better rate than anyone who we'd put at 3B or LF right now.

Having Crede hurt would seem to open that door, but it won't happen. The White Sox policy seems to be to keep hurt players off the DL, play a man short, and get Pablo Ozuna as many at-bats as possible.

That's been the story of this team since the '05 playoffs. We just can't seem to get the offense, starting pitching and bullpen going at the same time.
